My insurance was changed over at the end of Jan. to my husbands company. I used to have BCBS. They would never let me refill the trex even one day before the month time period was up. I just called to fill a prescription for my daughter, and thought I'd try to sneak in an imitrex refill at the same time....ya know, maybe get lucky. The damn thing went through, not even two weeks after the last refill.

I wanted to ask whether I could fill them whenever I wanted to, and then stopped before I asked. I was scared she'd say...whoops, we screwed up...can't have them. I've been just scrimping and saving those injections to get through the month.

This is just way too good to be true. That's why I have serious doubts about it.

Does anyone else have insurance that will refill them anytime?

Hey Rox,
Well maybe you struck the lottery! I know I can only refill my imitrex every 2 weeks, I've got HIP. But sometimes they will fill it a day or 2 earlier but thats about it.
Maybe the pharmacist just really really likes you, LOL. ;)

Rox......I can get refills on Brad's imitrex when he needs them IF WE PAY top dollar and 'if' the doc gives him the refills......insurence originally would only allow him 9 pills a month they'd pay for.....he was gettin hit 4 to 5 times a day so doc called the ins. hotline and got us approved for 27 a month.....insurence would only pay for the one script a month tho of 27 so it was gonna run us $170.00 a script if we needed more.... (was gonna run us 'bout $ 600.00 a week with jus the 9 pills out of our own pocket tho and we could NOT afford that no way no how....dam !!).... doc had ta call in every month ta get them to reapprove the 27 verses 9 pills a script a month. I did renew one script in less then 2 weeks and had to pay for it myself ....ouch ! Yer really lucky if they renew yours and pay with no hassle or limit....there's a god after all ech....Pam-Coots-that-hates-insurence-ripoffs

I lucked out, I get Lithum up the ass and most of it is for free......LOL

My kid got an open script for Lithium for her MS, when she knew it wasnt doing anything she kept the script alive knowing I took the same thing so its a flowing for free......LOL

My old insurance paid for imitrix ns every 3 days I got a refil. Pills and shots were 1x a week refill.

Wow. It IS over 30 years later, and everybody is still trying to score more neato¹ drugs as fast, safe, and cheap as they can. Of course, instead of acid.........it's anti-acid...........Timothy Leary's GOT to be chortling in his NO₂ grave.

Imitrex is readily available with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois. As long as the Doc prescribes it that way.. Very cool Rox I'm glad for ya.

That's great news for you, hopin' it last.
How stupid is that though that you can't get what you need when you need it...very frustrating but whaddayagonnado?
I have BCBS and so far I've had no problems getting as much Imitrex as needed. 2 shots=15.00

Let's see....if I fill the prescription every day, split each vial into 3 shots.....hmmmmm, that's 15 shots a day....
