Title: I'm the "new guy".
Post by Kevman on Mar 11th, 2003, 10:36am
Hi everyone. I've been suffering for about 20 years now with these horrible things. I am currently in the middle of a cycle. All i can say is God bless us all and God bless Imitrex.
I have found that I seem to forget all about having these things when between cycles. It should really come as no suprise when they start up again, but I allways hold out hope that maybe someday I will "outgrow them".
It has been close to 4 years since my last cycle. This is the longest pain-free stretch I've had since I was 12.
Any way..I have to try to get some work done before what I know is comming hits.

By the way do you folks use your Imitrex at the very first twinge of pain? Not waiting to see if it will get bad enough to warrent a needleborn solution? I do. I'm terrified of the pain.
Peace be with you all,
Kevman.

Howdy Kevman, and welcome to CH.com........the "Other White Meat." There's room to park your trailer on Triptan Way, or over on Cafergot Circle.

No. Never ever ever. The first thing I reach for is the oxygen tank ON valve, the second thing I reach for is the Non-rebreather mask. If things don't calm down quickly, THEN I reach for the Trex.

If O2 doesn't work for you, then so be it, and my abject apologies. If you have NOT tried it, then .......as Wotans Witness........I beg you to call your Doc _today_ and get a script for O2.

Best O(2) Days to you,
RJ

Welcome Kevman ~~~~http://www.gifs.net/animate/welcome!.gifalways glad to have a new member of our growing family... That means we have a newbie in our circle somewhere on the map... Glad you have had a good remission this time.  My husband Dave usually has a 2-2 1/2 year stretch between his cycles and is hopefully coming off the easiest cycle ever... Finding this website has been a Godsend to our family and I know it will be for you too... bring your immediate family here and anyone else that needs to "Get" that CH is a dibilitating disorder that robs the average human out of so much that life has to give... We are thankful to have found each other... The information here is great too... but thanks for your tip... Im sure you still have alot to learn too and that is at your fingertips... again Welcome peace and pain free nights and days (PFDAN)  to you AND THOSE THAT SUPPORT YOU...REE

If the 02 doesn't do it, then I go for cold (head in the ice machine).  If the cold doesn't do it, then I try a few more things.  I put off the shot almost too long.  I have to try and save my shots....5-8 hits a day, you can't use a shot everytime.  I always wait with the hope that maybe the fucker will go away.....yeah, right!    :-/

Hi Kevman,
Sorry to hear about the achin' head, hope it passes quickly.
Like the others are saying, try the o2 as a first line of defense and try to save the Imitrex as a last resort.
pfdan's to you,
Jim

o2 RULES!

Hi New guy.......I usually wait until I can't stand it anymore before I shoot up.  Sometimes they go away in a few minutes, but if they last moe than 15 minutes at reach about a 5 kip I grab hold of the Imitrex when I have it.  If you are like most people that have posted, be careful with your Imitrex......insurance companies stick it to you!!!! and you will run out.

Welcome aboard, Kev

Line forms at the back of the boat, upon entering the boat grab an oar and have a seat. We are rowing towards a cure and everyone rows.

BTW: check out the Imitrex tip button to the left and learn how to turn one shot into three.
