Meegrains Meegrains Meegrains....The only mention of Clusters was ...Woman get migrains, men get Clusters.

ok Im taking offense AGAIN to this Meegraine term... as if Migraine people are self centered or something... Have you EVER EVER heard MEEEEEEEE ask for any support from any of YOU... the answer is NO. AND IT DOESNT MAKE OUR PAIN ANY LESS PAINFUL TO KNOW THAT WE GET MORE SUPPORT THAN YOU. If you dont like it write to CNN. It really isnt fair to put down another condition merely because they get recognition. How long did it take for someone to come up with a migraine medication... and you all should thank God for Migraine if it wasnt for Migraine you wouldnt have the remedies ie: Imatrex, Zomig, Amerge they were all made to relieve Migraine..........Im done......... Well, I agree pain is no fun! But I have migraines as well as CH. I'd take a month of migraines over one 15 minute episode of CH. Migraines hurt ideed, but they NEVER compare to a CH. CH's are like the Timex watch.....it keeps going, and going, and going sometimes for months on end! I am thankful for all the meds for the migraines because you are right, without them, I would be in a TOTAL MESS! But what ticks me off is the way insurance companies treat us CH'ers. CH's are not migraines so stop treating it the same! Doctos wake up and stop telling us they know how we feel! Friends, family and bosses stop telling us they know how we feel because they too have "headaches" NO YOU DO NOT!!! Most people have no idea what a cluster headache is.......I work in a hospital in the Emergency Room and half of the staff there call them migraines! Really Sucks! Only a few know the difference. AND THERE IS A DIFFERENCE.......BIG DIFFERENCE

Please don't take offence at my comment! I am not building up or knocking anyone's pain. I just thought the show did an injustice to all sufferers. For what was supposed to be a news/health info piece, the show was nothing more than "fluff".
I wish pain free heads and bodies to everyone, regardless of the its origin, because we all suffer in our own way with our own pain. Pain is mostly physical, but partly psycological (or why would we fear/despise it) and this is where the differences amoung us show up.

Oh and Janice I can tell by the number of posts that you are fairly new here... My husband suffers from Cluster headaches as well as my best friends here... Ted, NancyC, Ueli, Jonny, Steve, Roxy, Bill, Don, Elaine, Michelle, Happy, Wes, Blake, Den, Georgia, Linda H, Barb D, Barb G, etc...etc...etc... No one has to tell me how bad CH is... We have gone through that argument over and over... We know they are different, that they are worse... but my family and friends dont deny that I have pain when I suffer with a Migraine... We are not in one big competition here... Welcome to you~ and If you have that gripe... DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT... Help to make the population of the world more aware... Educate those people you work with. MY argument was not that Migraines are worse. I have never said that, but that take offense to the usage of the term MEEGRAINE... and Kevin man that he IS appologized. THANK YOU Kevin... My husband Dave is standing over my shoulder right now and he hates when someone says MY pain is worse than YOURS. He says that sometimes supporters need support too. I am also a Spinal Meningitis survivor so I think I can register what head pain is. I also have a recent (MONDAY) concussion... but I forgot YOUR pain is worse than mine... have a great day Ree

Listen, I think the negativity stems from the fact that cluster headache sufferers' numbers are so small....

You are right sweetheart to say what you say. I agree. If it weren't for the migraine medications, I'd be cooked right good. My best friend got migraines. We grew up together. She would get so sick, Ree, and I would NEVER make a stink about "pain vs. pain".......It's ALL pain and it SUX all round. I see the spectrum....don't make me so popula, but so what :) Meegrainer is insinuating and never made much sense to me on a comparison table.....Really, it won't aid in the understanding of clusters one bit!!!

Put the pain scale aside and concentrate on the recognition of the malady of cluster headaches. That's the true goal. Not to quibble.

PS: Hope I did not just break wind again ::)

Sorry about the Meegraine idea, up here (Canada) we have a lot of South African doctors and they pronounce it that way - I just didn't give it a second thought. Once again, we shouldn't be in any competetion here except against the pain.
