hey all well the snow cleared and i finially got that neuro appt. i went today and i tell whats wrong and i tell him and he asks if i heard of cluster headaches....and i told him i have and that was the end of the appt i left w/ 4 prescrpitions..... imitrex injections,topamax, methylprednisolone, and one for a mri............can anyone please give me some info on these..........i went to the pharmacy but the pharmicist was an ass lol........and to top it off they didnt have the imitrex just refills..........anywho any info would be appreciated i havent gotten more answers here then anywhere else..............thanks christine :-*

Hi Christine. Topomax is primarily an anti-seizure medicine which is sometimes prescribed for CH. Methylprednisolone is also known as prednisone. Check out the medications board, there's a couple of active threads discussing prednisone. I'm afraid some docs overlook O2 and Verapamil. Those are 2 of the most effective CH meds and they have the least side effects. If you current plan doesn't work out, make sure you try O2 and verapamil if your doc permits.

hemgrl use the imitrex tip on the left side of the board.
The insurance companys are not going to give you
a lot of the statdoses.I cut mine in 1/2 and some times
in 1/3.If you want to use the pen injecter and you are having a hard time getting one email your address
i will send you one i have a extra one

Sorry to hear you're a clusterhead.. but atleast you have the best weapon now... the information and friendship you'll be sure to find here.

ask your doc about O2.. .dont overlook that!! Oxygen is God send in this house!! And the people here who helped make sure my husband was using it the right way..
