hi here i'm trying to get hold of a facemask that lets you breath in pure o2 instead of the ones with the holes at the side that take in more air than oxygen does anyone know who supplies then and also ehat is the name for the type of mask

it's a non-rebreather mask, whoever delivered your 02 should give you this mask just ask, good luck with that 02. remember when you do get the mask to cut off the elastic strap that holds it to your head, falling asleep with it on can be bad. .........2late

Most non-rebreather masks have a whole on the one side with a little white disk on it to prevent air to come in and allow air to go out, on the other side is just a hole that allows ambient air in. Just tape over the whole that doesn't have the disk.

Baz,

That pic shows only one white bladder on one side and the other open, if yours is like that get a new one. one that has the bladders on both sides, to me a true non-rebreather mask never lets room air in.

This is just the quickest pic I could find.

Screw them exhaust valves on the sides. I put duct tape over both of them. I push the mask against my face, inhale and squeeze the bag at the same time. I then let go fo the bag so it can refill, lift the bottom of the mask an inch away from my face and exhale out the bottom of the mask. Repeat for 10 minutes and it's done it's thing.

Shit Bob!!, your way you have to use two hands....I always got to leave one hand free for my smoke, Hell, we all know nothing will happen while you smoke when using 02 cause its not flammable. we even have a family member here that will hold up a lit lighter to the 02 flow just to show his wife its safe....IDIOT!!!!!!

Folks, im joking....Smoking or any open flame while 02 is on CAN KILL YOU!!!

speakin of O2 and fires.....mom was gettin a biopsy done near her eye in tha hospital and has had to have several done and some surgeries (melinoma)....this time they knocked her out thank goodness and usually didn't. They had taped an oxygen tube to her chin durein the procedure ....they were caterizeing an area near mom's eye and it caught on fire !! Guess it burns a real clear flame....hard ta see....they were rushin ta put the fire out on her gown ect round her face and it burned down into the oxygen tube. Burned her face "bad" and into her sinus and some flashed down into her throat....ruin'd alot of the corrective surgery that had begun the past two years to reconstruct her nose from the melinoma. She lost eyebrows and lashes permanently from the fire. Her face was burnt and turned yellow and swelled bad....was a horrible site. They had a long drawn lawsuit goin on cuz of it but in the end lost cuz the jury couldn't bring themselves ta sue this hospital. The doc that approved the surgery procedure wasnt' even there durein the surgery and they say it really was not a proven safe procedure anyhow. Reason the hospital gave for haveing oxygen cuz she is a smoker.....NOT....mom does'n even CUSS....does'nt ever ever smoke. They struck it from the records what was said but it still stuck in the jurors minds that this hospital did that to help a smokeing patient be more comfortable....they even brought up her drinking....NOT....mom does NOT drink a drop.....the case took bout 3 years. Hospital kept stallin gettin new lawyers ect buyin more time hopein mom would bail out and give up. They had a couple other cases where this happen'd but was cases settled outa court with money and info was N/A on the cases. Mom got nothin cuz they fought it...the others got a pay off ta settle outa court. It was not a pleasant ordeal. Thought I'd add my story here....take care all..........Pam
