Title: Need to Duck and Cover! Post by echo on Jan 24th, 2003, 11:15am Layoff's have begun within the last hour. I'll be doing duck and cover for awhile and staying off the MB just in case the powers to be are looking for unauthorized surfing during business hours to help justify releasing me. If you don't see anything from me on Monday -- I will have been a victim. Hope everyone has a great PF weekend. For me -- still having the 0430 dance. Sitting at a K7 as I type. Stressed to the MAX. If someone needs me or there is something hot/urgent happening with my CH MB Family - contact me at my yahoo address. Thanks everyone |

Title: Re: Need to Duck and Cover! Post by Mark C on Jan 24th, 2003, 11:54am That sux....I have traveled that road a few times. The job I had before the one I have now I loved....the people....the work....I loved it. Then in the space of a year I went through a divorce (nasty), lost my job and had to bury my Grandmother (GOD why me :-/). To make a long story short I now have the best job I have ever had, benefits galore, a great boss. I have reconciled with my ex-wife, we have been back together for four years now and Granny is sitting comfortably on the mantle. I guess shit just happens......good luck echo and I hope the best happens to you. PFDAN's Mark |

Title: Re: Need to Duck and Cover! Post by fubar on Jan 24th, 2003, 12:28pm Duck and cover... gotta love that routine. I was at Novell for 10 years, and we peaked at about 10,000 employees. There was a long period where every Thursday the goons would be circling about, moving boxes in hand. They would simply tap yuou on the shoulder and that was the end. As you can imagine, as 10,000 became 8000, then 6000, then 3000... you get the idea, Thursday became people's favorate day to take off. Did the same routine at Wyse Technology and before that, another one called Corvus. Not exactly fun. -Fu |

Thought the little woman was at ya again. ;D I give you credit Echo, sitting there typing with kip7. Does the keyboard still have keys or are they hanging off the ceiling by now? Hope you enjoy a PF weekend as well. suzy |

Title: Re: Need to Duck and Cover! Post by catlind on Jan 24th, 2003, 1:54pm Echo, I'll be keeping my fingers and toes crossed for you! I sincerely hope you avoid the cut. You deserve the break, it's tough enough dealing with the beast, let alone at 4:30 a.m. and having to deal with the stress of your situation at home and on top of it all, potential layoff :-/ I'll be thinking of you :-* Cat |
