Title: Re: Everyone please say a prayer for... Post by Charlie on Jan 22nd, 2003, 10:06pm Ueli: The Raiders and the Bucs are two football teams that toss around a ball and beat the shit out of one another in the Super Bowl between beer commercials and ads for SUVs driven by humans with nearly impossible dimensions. It's a trip Charlie |

It was fun watching the game -- even though I was so out of it on mucho-meds and sitting all alone in my big comfy chair drinking coronas!! But hey -- we made it and it was so cool to see! Dexter -- ok. how cool was he? -- Ok. that would be me rubbing it in again. sorry. I'll be quiet now. I just had to put in a comment here for ya :) Ciao, ami |

Title: Re: Everyone please say a prayer for... Post by Hound_Dogg on Jan 30th, 2003, 3:30am It's mostly the media...I'm a Philadelphia Eagles fan...And it gets me sick to see some of the comments they make about us. Tampa's area travel agents were not booking trips to the NFC Championship because their insurance riders would not cover it due to "Philly fans possibly killing an opposing teams visitor's. We are sorry, but it is a shame Philadelphia has to take this game so seriously." I have always taken my family to the Vet, and my daughter always wears her Cowboys Jacket. (I may disown her for that.), but nobody's ever bothered her. The media sees a few people acting like idiots and tags the whole city. Oakland and Philly are passionate about football. But that's where it ends. Jim |

Title: Re: Everyone please say a prayer for... Post by catlind on Jan 30th, 2003, 8:05am I'm an old time 49ers fan, and hubby is an all time Miami fan, he looks rather silly living in upstate NY where the bills are the standard, as he walks around in his miami dolphins hat LOL These days the media can turn any event into a riot. You should have seen Toronto the first time the Jays won the pennant, I was there that weekend, the city went crazy. When they won the series, the entire province went nuts, I mean cars on the 401 (major freeway) were all honking horns, everyone everywhere was screaming and yelling and partying and honking horns and just plain going nuts. Toronto had a riot, we didn't make it into the US news though ;) Cat |

Title: Re: Everyone please say a prayer for... Post by Roxy on Jan 30th, 2003, 12:14pm I honestly thought Texas was the worst in fan behavior, except that people here do it over high school games. We love and are passionate about the Cowboys (shame on you Hound Dogg), but the parents only seem to act like asses over the high school stuff. My son graduated last year, but he played all four yrs. in a really small, socially backward town. When the movie Varsity Blues came out.....he laughed his butt off....because, it was all true. The players are literally Gods. Our coaches (not all of course), will cheat, lie, steal players......the parents will do the same. We always have schools in serious trouble with the UIL. College isn't quite as bad......just don't be in Austin during T&O weekend!!!!! LOL |
