Title: pregnancy and the devil
Post by cecile on Jan 2nd, 2003, 7:35pm
hello,
this site has change so much ! i didn't wrote on the board since a very long time ( a year maybe  :-/) : CONGRATULATION to the web master, it's a  bit complicated for me (my english is not very good) but it is fantastic  :o

i am still a bit lost, but it will be better after a while.

by the way, i am a 28 years old french girl and "of course"  suffuring of CH (for 8 years + i am chronic)

i come back to Ch supports groups cause actually i need support : we (my friend and i) have been trying to have a baby for two years now. it has been quite difficult because of my medication for CH. We had to wait a long time before my doctor "allowed" me to try to have the baby and i had to stop my treatment. After a very hard time, i finaly get pregnant.... but as things cannot be good for people like us, i lost the baby on the 23th december (merry christmas...)

well, i don't want to make everyone cry, i am just looking for somone like me who try to have a baby or who had children dispite this bloody CH.

Now as i hunderstood how the message board works, i'll try to come back more often (it won't be difficult after one year  ;) )

i hope somone will be able to give me informations and hope in particular.

Anyway, HAPPY NEW YEAR WITHOUT PAIN FOR ALL OF YOU

Cécile

Hi Cecile, Sorry to hear about your baby. I had 3 miscarriages myself so I  know how bad you feel. I did have 2 sons later but I did not take any medications for CH way back then, all they gave me at that time was pain killers which did nothing anyway(not while I was pregnant though)  so I really couldnt be of any help to you there, especially with you being chronic, must really suck.
Good luck to you and hoping you have a better year to come.

Cecile,

We do have a member who is expecting, her name is Melissa.  Perhaps you could email her and she can help answer some questions for you.

She isn't able to get online much these days because she's having a rough go of things I understand.

Wish I could be of more help to you.

Cecile,

I spoke with Melissa via email and she gave me permission to post her email for you:

mfiltz@highstream.net

She is currently pregnant and is a clusterhead, so perhaps she will be able to help you with some info regarding meds and what to watch out for etc.

Just know that she is very very tired with her pregnancy and it may take her a day or two to reply to you.

Wish I could do more for you.

Hello Cecile,

First, I am sorry about the miscarriage and send prayers and best wishes to you and your partner.

Second, for many, pregnancy actually seems to lesson or (as in my case) provide a remission from clusters.  I am episodic and  cannot speak for chronic.

A good Neurologist can work with you during a pregnancy and find medications that do  not threaten pregnancy.

Good  luck!

Cecile,

I too am sorry to hear of your loss. I myself have had 2 children. My son is 6 amd my daughter is 3. As Kim said, I went into remission during both of my pregnancies. But had to quit breastfeeding shortly after I  had both bcz the damn things returned and had to go back on meds. During that episode I went to the ER with an out of control CH. The doctor on duty said that I should keep myself pregnant and everything would be fine and he chuckled. What an idiot. Would have slapped him if I could have taken my hands off of my eye.

I hope things will be brighter in your future.

Hello Cécile!
I'm sorry to hear about your baby... but I hope you'll find ways to make your dream come true. I'll pray a lot for you okay?
Since i'm a begginer (I found out I had CH last friday, January, 3rd) I can't offer you much help.
But I hope things will end up working fine with you, okay?

I also went into remission during the time that I was pregnant but began a cycle right after my son was born.  I won't ever forget nursing him while slamming my head into our headboard.  As soon as he was done, I would give him to my husband and lock myself in the bedroom crying, pacing, slamming.  My husband would come in the room with an imitrex injection and beg me to take it.  All this and a house full of family!  I made it through the six weeks taking excedrin every four hours 24/7.  It  tore my stomach all to hell and didn't stop the headaches but I was able to get through it.  This was before I knew about oxygen obviously.  I am also episodic though so that may make a difference during pregnancy.  Good luck to both of you and I too am sorry about your loss.

It seems that all of you who had children are episodic and that you all had a very hard time just after your babies came to the world.

For my part i am chronic but since the day i got pregnant my pain stopped..... and the good news (yes there is one  ::) ) is that since i lost the baby - 2 weeks- i still have no pain  :) . this is one of the longest time without crises for me. Does it mean that i am turning episodic ? I wishe !!!!
