Title: Re: Superdave New Cronic Guy Post by Superdave on Feb 10th, 2008, 10:48pm Thanks for welcoming me Dennis. Its been quite a time over these last few years of being misdiagnosed mismedicated and blown off by nuorologist who become frustrated by my unknown condition. Its so amazing how these Doctors who claim to be headache specialist can't recognize a cluster patient. Any way I subdued the beast for years with valume zanex and soma, pretty much anything I could get my hands on to knok me out cold through the night. I was able to keep working but don't remember a thing :o This past summer I found the right guy, He loaded me up with the usual verapamil, cafergot and steroids to give me 7 weeks of relief. After the those meds ran out the beast was back in his usual form, basicly when I needed rest. Now they have me on sansert and migrainal. Told me to give about 3 months to take hold, Its been about 9 weeks and I'm still batteling daily. Hard to say if it's doing any good at this point but at least I can remember yesterday! The migrainal works about 75% of the time but my nose really dose'nt seem to like it much, I get a lot of congestion after a good spray. And yes I will be at my local welding supplier tomorrow morning. Wow!, it is so refreshing to converse with people about this monster that actually know what I mean. :) Thaks Again Dennis |

Title: Re: Superdave New Cronic Guy Post by Bob_Johnson on Feb 11th, 2008, 8:05am For chronic CH, Lithium has become a first round med of choice. Oxygen may be less effective for chronic, according to one authority. This is the most current list of therapies: http://www.plainboard.com/ch/chtherapy.pdf Here is a link to read and print and take to your doctor. It describes preventive, transitional, abortive and surgical treatments for CH. Written by one of the better headache docs in the U.S. (2002) |
