Title: Re: old newbie Post by jace77 on Jan 15th, 2008, 3:45pm we too are old newbies, joined in 2000 and forgot the log on since we haven't been around for a year or two. As for SSI, you have to use words that are factual rather than subjective. Sorry to say, pain is subjective, however depression from the pain can be real and factual, which may be the course you need to take. http://www.ssa.gov/disability/professionals/bluebook/AdultListings.htm this is the list all the conditions that they will approve for. They typically only see things in black and white, no areas of gray, so choose words wisely, replace phrase that start off with "I feel" with a statement. ex: It feels like a hot poker is stabbing me in the eye ~ I am unable to focus/see out of the eye due to the vessels/nerves constricting. Hope this helps |

Title: Re: old newbie Post by snusan on Jan 15th, 2008, 7:23pm Thank you guys for your replies. Yes Jonny it is me. Jace your advice is well taken. I plan to get a lawyer to represent me when my hearing is set. I really don't want to go through another appeal and all the waiting that comes with it. I will hang in there imfareware. I do rather the cycles in the cold weather however because heat triggers big time for me. |
