Title: New guy saying hello!
Post by KevinG88 on Jan 8th, 2008, 6:30am
Hey everyone! I'm a 19 year old dutch boy, not sure if I have cluster headaches but I'm going to see the doctor tomorrow.

I have most of the symptons as I have read them on the internet. (Red teary eye, clogged and runny nose, extreme headaches, waking up in the middle of the night.)

I have only slept a few hours these past few days, and hardly eaten!

But the thing is, I have had constant headaches for the past few days, and drinking red bull helps relieve the headache a bit. :P So do you guys have constant headaches too or is it really like a headache for a small period of time?

Anyways, seeing the doctor tomorrow, I'll let you guys know what she says.

Sorry for my bad english. :)

Dag Kevin:

If you would take the "cluster quiz" on the left, you might get a better idea if your symptoms are likely to be cluster headaches.

The answer to your question about length of the headaches, clusters tend to be from about a half hour to several hours in length, but that is NOT to say that some of us don't get other headaches as well.

Check back with us after the doctor appointment and let us know how it goes.

Goed geluk!

Ray

Welcome, like Rosey said, I sincerely hope you don't have Cluster Headaches, they suck! If you do you've found your second home.

Do take the cluster quiz on the left side of this board, take the results to your doctor, it will help him with the diagnosis. Also start keeping a headache diary. When they start, how fast they build how long it takes them to peak, how long they stay at peak, how fast they go away. Any meds you took that did or didn't help, any foods that seem to trigger an attack.

With headaches, the diagnosis is in the details. there are hundreds of different types of headaches and treatments that work for some are useless for others!!!

Let us know what the doc says, if it's clusters, pull up a seat and get comfy with us!
