Title: Two young men died for no reason Post by deltadarlin on May 22nd, 2008, 8:27am What are the odds that I would *know* (one was the son of one of my doctors' and the other is the son of a guy that I know from work, known both dads for years) two *kids* who would die in completely seperate accidents? Sad thing is, neither one of them needed to die. James *Trey* Altick, aged 15, was disconnected from life support yesterday morning. He was the oldest child and only son. His death was tragic in that it was preventable. He and his buddies were playing on a jet ski when it flipped. His two buddies surfaced. He didn't. None of them were wearing life jackets. Lance Sledge, aged 21, died when he was run over by a car while walking down a highway at 3 am in the morning. Now, around here, there's only a couple of reasons why you'd be walking down a highway at 3 am, the main one being, too drunk to drive. He was also the only son. I wish their parents comfort, because peace is not going to come easy. |
