Title: Yarn Monkey Junkies. Post by George_J on May 18th, 2008, 11:02am We have three cats. Now and then, Ellen buys a catnip plaything and leaves it lying around. The one she bought yesterday is a small yarn monkey filled with catnip leaves. It's been popular--constant runnings to and fro, with many thefts. The oldest cat is now wandering the house in despond, calling over and over, "O, who has stolen my yarn monkey?" The youngest cat has it now, in the living room, and is dancing for joy--"my monkey of yarn...my monkey of yarn...I do so love my monkey of yarn..." She tosses and catches it, rolling and twisting on the floor like a hog. Her bliss is complete. The middle cat--more reticent than the others, and a very conservative creature (perhaps she is a Republican) prefers to keep her catnip jones a private matter. Although she enjoys it as much as the others do, she is a solitary drunk, and gives in to her base impulses in hidden places. Unfortunately, she drools in ecstacy, and the yarn monkey is now a very disgusting object. Which does not seem to decrease its popularity. All in all, the place is in an uproar. I will be glad when the yarn monkey meets its inevitable demise. Best, George |
