Title: The Beast is back... and so am I Post by sueellen83 on May 11th, 2008, 10:45pm Hey Guys, Sorry I have been gone so long. It is so good to see you are still here. Not that you are still in pain but, that the group is still together and crazy as ever. I've had a few years break but, the beast came back with a vengence about 3 weeks ago and the Verapamil is not helping this time. Sucks because I have changed insurance and have to start over with a new PCP and neurologist. God I hate having to educate my Drs. I am still waiting on an appointment with a neuro and haven't been able to get in. Why are neuros so weird? LOL Here's wishing everybody PFD&N |

Title: Re: The Beast is back... and so am I Post by AussieBrian on May 12th, 2008, 12:30am Hello Sueellen. Sorry you needed to find us again but, yes, here we are as large as life just slightly better looking. There's a few things new on the scene that are helping many - kudzu and melatonin among them. You'll come across a fair bit of info on both as you're cruising the boards, but otherwise just ask. Also there's Red Bull or its many equivalents. Chug-a-lugged at the immediate start of a hit it's giving quite a bit of relief, too. Seems to be something to do with the caffiene-taurine mix and at least it can do little harm. Otherwise just keep smiling (makes 'em wonder what you're up to) and we're ever here to help in any way we can. |

Title: Re: The Beast is back... and so am I Post by KingOfPain on May 12th, 2008, 6:18am Hello, long time no see. [smiley=wave.gif] I hope you find what works for you [and a good Neuro], are you still in the nursing field? The last time we spoke at the Meet-&-Greet, you were studying to be a R.N. [if my memory is correct]. Pain free to you, KingOfPain [Steve]. Edit to add: I am adding comments here as I couldn't respond to your reply [below] in a timely manner. 1. You're welcome for the warm welcome back, glad to see you around again. 2. Have you finished your RN yet? You mentioned in your reply [below] "all I have left is the nursing part ." Have you completed that? 3. I hope the Neuro helped. You probably already know this but... Melatonin* is an OTC sleep aid, I have had good results with it [you commented below "I don't know how much more of these sleepless nights I can take."]. *As always, before trying any kind of treatment, consult your Doctor. 4. No, I have not heard of Dr. Jeanne Edwards. 5. I hope you also have pain free days. :) |

Title: Re: The Beast is back... and so am I Post by sueellen83 on May 12th, 2008, 6:28am Thanks Guys for the warm welcome back!!! Yeah Steve I'm still nursing but, didn't finish my RN (all I have left is the nursing part). But I'm not sure nursing is what I want to do when I grow up. LOL (only been doing it for 22 years as an LPN) LOL I hope to hear from the neuro today and get something going. I don't know how much more of these sleepless nights I can take. Are any of you Okies familiar with Dr Jeanne Edwards? Is she good with Clusters? I hate this because my old neuro was but, I can't afford to see him without my insurance. Hope everybody has a PFD |
