Before I was a Mom
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Pee-ed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom
I never held a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give meds or do a blood draw.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put him down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that someone so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that someone so small could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a Mom
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night, every 10 minutes, to listen to the rhythm

of an infant's breathing.

I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache,
the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

My Niece sent me this. I just thought it was fitting for Mothers Day.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO EVERY MOM HERE!!!!!!!!!!!

Before I was a mom I didn't know that a husband saying to a wife, "no, you sleep, I'll feed the baby" was one of the most glorious phrases in the English language.

And before I was a mom I didn't know how incredible it was to watch a dad hold a baby.

Before I was a Mom I didn't understand the meaning of the phrase "time flies"....

No one will convince me that it wasn't just last week I held that baby in my arms, not 16 years ago.

THANK YOU JIMMERS............. [smiley=hug.gif]................before i was a mom..................................i never ever imagined i could love anyone as much as i do my 2 children ..........keith is 23, (almost) samantha is 19(almost).......................................they have been thru alot with their "perfect"family broken, over the past year. and a half....................but they are good and my "rocks"..............................and i will be working 2moro and .............gifts are not important.......................i know they love me..............(but a gift or 2 would be kinda sweet!!!!)

Before I was a mom, my life honestly didn't mean anything to me. Boy, how things change!

Thanks for that -- Before I was a Mom, I didn't know a lot of things.... especially that the little baby would grow up and make me a Granny some day and that would be a whole new set of joys.....

LOL! There's a irreverent side of me that just keeps thinking
Before I was a mom............I was a virgin!

Truly, to all the Mom out there, I hope your day is filled with love and laughter with your family.

(My husband took me out for Brunch, because we are going to my daughter's for dinner-and we both can't get used to her vegan menus..............but I love her to pieces for thinking of us!)
My son sent me a dozen white roses, and my grandson actually KISSED! ME! :o(10 yr old boys are not inclined to kiss females.well, males either, for that matter!

All of those are true and some have a very personal and special meaning............but

Before I was a mom, I didn't know that clusterheadaches were the worst pain in the world.

Before I was a mom, life dragged on. Now it flies way to fast.

Before I was a mom....

I was a teenager. (why does that *not* surprise some of you?)

I couldn't understand why parents couldn't just stop being parents when the kids grew up.

The sound of a child's laughter didn't make me grin like it does now.
