She will go for her surgery to a Naples, Florida Hospital . They have the high-tech equipment there, and not only that, Judy was a traveling nurse there for two years and knows several of the nurses......she has kept in touch with them and they all went out to dinner a few times since she left. She feels much more confident knowing that her friends will be looking out for her.

It's about 150 miles from here and is where Sailpappy used to live.

Her surgeons' specialty is diseases and abnormalities of the spine.

She has to quit smoking at least two weeks before the surgery, so it is tentitively scheduled for the last week of May or first week of June.

Her surgery will be in two parts. The first will be to place a rod anchor at the L5 level and remove parts of discs. Then she will go home in a couple of days and return in two weeks for part 2. This second surgery will involve placing the neck- to- sacrum rods, fuse bone and marrow to the parts of the discs that were removed, etc.

Then she will go to a rehab where she will stay for six weeks before she comes home again. She swears she will be home in two weeks if she works really hard. I don't think so.

So needess to say, we continue to need all the prayers we can beg, borrow or steel.

She's a strong personality...a take charge person, but right now she is very depressed and vulnerable.

Will you be so kind as to send a get-well note via e-mail through me to Judy? Her spirits are at rock bottom and just knowing that so many prayers are being sent up for her would mean a very lot. To put the state or country that you live in would be a biggie too. Thanks again for all you've done for me.

Sounds a lot like what my MIL had done - she's in the rehab stage now. Make sure she doesn't over it in rehab.

Thank you so much to those who responded to the request for an e-mail. I wonder if you know just how much these notes and prayers mean to her and me.

A simple, kind, act can be a life line to those who are in terrible pain and depression.

For any who don't know Donna H. she has been here a long time. Almost as long as me. ;;D

This lady has worked for OUCH, has been a constant friend to many here and all she needs right now and is asking back from....is a few notes of encouragement for her wonderful daughter.

My daughter also has scoliosis. It's not a nice affliction.

A few notes to Judy in support can make the difference in her frame of mind. It takes us only a few mins. to write a heartfelt note. It could make a world of difference to someone suffering from the depression the pain has her in.

I know I can count on you guys. You always come through.
