My daughter Brid is about to take her sats - and the poor little kid's 14th birthday lands right in the middle of them! She has two papers on William Shakespear's Richard the Third on her actual birthday!

Anyhow, she has been working incredibly hard at both Maths and Science to improve her grades as she wants a distinction grade and oh boy is she on target!

Not only is she top of the class in Science but she has just had the results back of a six  week maths revision competition where they've been completing tests weekly to assess their progress and she has come top with 95% the next hearest mark was 83% so she stormed it.

English hasn't had any similar type work but having seen her recent history essay on Hitler and the effect the US Stock Market Crash had on Germany I have no fear's there. It was incredible and her teacher has also said she should achieve the highest grade with ease as she is so eager and she knows the subject so well.

She has a good vocabulary and knows how to use it too! (See I TOLD you lot discombobulate was a proper word!  :P )

I'm ever so pleased with her, she is delighted with herself and I thought you would all enjoy sharing in some happy news!  :)

I'm proud of my clever daughter - dunno where she get's it from though!  ::)

That lil' gal of yours is a fire cracker Mum, and you have every right to be proud!  

Way to be the ace over the other kids on that Math tests too!

Now Brid...just stay away from the boys so you don't catch their cuutie bugs.  It'll take all your conentration away from your work.

It aint no surprise Helen. You're very bright and it only stands to reason that Brid would do so well.

Wonderful news, Helen!!!  Please give Brid a hug from me and give her my love!  I know she's a clever girl - knew that from the first second I spoke to her.  She reminds me of the curiosity I had when I was her age - school was an exciting time as you could never learn enough!

You've done a great job, Helen!!  You should be proud!  Give yourself a big hug too!!

Way to go Brid!!!  Brain power alone didn't do that.  It took a lot of work, and you are to be commended for it.

Helen, if you DON'T brag on your kids when they do well shame on you!  They need to know when they do well, and it does them a world of good to have others know about it too.  Give her a big hug for all of us on this side of the pond.
