Title: Re: Pace maker anyone? Post by MJ on Apr 23rd, 2008, 8:44pm Pacemakers are pretty cool nowadays. My moms has an internet connection as well as a phone compatability deal. (really) She can have the docs read her heart, history, trending etc.. from anywhere in the world. Only thing hers is missing is GPS so her kids cant find her when she decides to travel the world. Cant even tell she has one. Can be recharged externally. |

Title: Re: Pace maker anyone? Post by artonio7 on Apr 25th, 2008, 6:59pm Thank you all so much for your kind words and support... I'm only a little freaked out... but not because of the surgery... I'm freaked out because I don't have the pace maker yet. .........of course every time I get dizzy and feel short of breath... I do the Fred Sanford routine... (Poor Ben) "I'm coming Elizabeth!!!" as I grasp my chest. LOL... He actually gets a kick out of it. The sick puppies that we are. Then there is always the kiss goodnight done as though I'll probably die in my sleep. ....and the conversations about the wake,,, what music to play... what foods to serve... can I convince the funeral director to sit me in a chair with my eyes open and a cigarette in my fingers and a cup of coffee on the table next to me... I wonder how much extra that would cost? Eddie... thanks heaps for the links... there's some great info there... I'm also glad to hear that you are recovering... after you received your diagnosis... were you as freaked out as I am? with warm regards, Tony |

Title: Re: Pace maker anyone? Post by Kirk on Apr 26th, 2008, 11:00am My Grandfather had one for 24 years, before he died of other causes at the age of 102. So I don't think you have much to worry about. I have the wires for one, made into a net, and my heart is resting in it and it is tied off to my rib cage. So they are pretty versatile things. With all the stuff the new ones can do. I think you'll get a real charge out of it. Please be well my friend. [smiley=smokin.gif] |

Title: Re: Pace maker anyone? Post by kcopelin on Apr 26th, 2008, 11:15am Tony, When's the surgery? You'll feel alot better afterwards, my uncle sure did. And he was like 75 yrs old. Love ya bro, let us know when you'll be assimulated. (All pacemakers are routed through a main frame, much like the Borg, so just do as it says and no one gets hurt ;) ) Have a groovy day, kathy |

Title: Re: Pace maker anyone? Post by Charlie on Apr 26th, 2008, 9:58pm Wow, Tony. With all these prayers, vibes and whatnot, I'm sure you're gonna do just fine.
