Title: I love city guv-ment Post by Charlie on Apr 22nd, 2008, 11:11pm So after spending about 45 minutes on the phone this afternoon with our urban problem-solvers, trying to find out what to do with the dead deer I found in my neighbor's back yard; I was told that the only way they would pick it up was if I dragged it out front. It seems they are not allowed to collect stuff on private property unless it's placed near the curb. :o I have my doubts and my suggestion that I wouldn't tell anyone if they did, went over like a lead balloon. I told them that that's why I called for God's sake. No dice. Fuckin' idiots....so I had to wrap it up and drag around. I'm just glad we found it when we did. The poor thing was probably hit by a car and found a place to die. Anyway, what department should I firebomb? http://www.netsync.net/users/charlies/gifs/bat.gif Charlie |

Title: Re: I love city guv-ment Post by Lizzie2 on Apr 22nd, 2008, 11:22pm OMG Charlie!!! We had the same thing happen! We think the deer was hit by a car on the highway and ran until it died at our front door. We called every single agency we could think of and NONE of them would come and get it. That thing sat on our lawn for a week - it was over Halloween and my dad covered it in a plastic bag and drug it out to the curb so the kids wouldn't trip on it. Eventually a friend came over and we ended up dumping the deer on his property somewhere because nobody connected to the city or state or township would come remove it!! Craziness.... Carrie :) |

Title: Re: I love city guv-ment Post by Racer1_NC on Apr 22nd, 2008, 11:32pm Charlie.... Next time that happens.....shoot the corpse, call and confess to shooting a deer on your property out of season. They will haul it away for evidence. ;;D Bill |

Title: Re: I love city guv-ment Post by Charlie on Apr 23rd, 2008, 7:56pm You're killing me. Great ideas...you too Helen...yer nuts. http://www.netsync.net/users/charlies/gifs/cheesy.gif I finally got hold of sanitation....It's the only department that would pick it up. Bambi wound up, head sticking out, in the back of a sanitation truck ready for the grinder. http://www.netsync.net/users/charlies/gifs/terrified.gif I just had to to relate the delightful story for you all.. 8) Charlie |

Title: Re: I love city guv-ment Post by BarbaraD on Apr 24th, 2008, 7:48am I personally loved the idea of wrapping it up, putting it in the trunk of the car and dumping in on the steps of city hall.... that one I WOULD have done... then sat there to see how THEY handled it... :) But I'm OLD and it doesn't take much to amuse me...
