Title: A Sketch and a WIP--Update on the WIP.
Post by George_J on Apr 18th, 2008, 1:37am
Hope you all don't mind me posting more of Ellen's artwork.  Here are a couple of drawings that she's been working on:

This is one of her costume/outfit concepts.  She draws lots of these, but I thought this one was particularly interesting, because she's been experimenting with a set of cheap colored markers she bought--she likes them, because they smear and blend, and she says they're "fun to use":

This is a partially-finished drawing (a WIP) in colored pencil of a Lorikeet.  And yeah--she likes birds too.  <bg>  She says that it's taking a while because she's trying to include levels of detail that you can't really see.

Thanks for lookin'.
:)

Best,

George

George they are wonderful, it never fails to amaze me that anyone can produce art work like this.  It is a gift thats for sure,

I am alway in awe of talent like this as I can only produe stick men and art work that most 4 years olds could do better at.

I am sure you are very proud off Ellen and rightly so

Takes a lot of patience filling in details like hair and feathers, the tree branch probably, too.  The beak is perfect.    :)

Your daughter's talent is truly awesome.  Thank you for sharing - but don't be selfish - you could share more often, ya know! ;)

Wasn't me, that's for sure.  Or Liz.  Neither one of us can draw at all.  I think that's why it puzzles us--when she shows us her sketchbook, it's like playing music to the deaf.

Best,

George

Definately paying artwork quality!!

If I had extra money to burn, I'd offer her some for the WIP when it's finished. [smiley=grin2.gif]

George,   There is nothing in the world like the feeling of pride a parent experiences when their child shows their talents like this.

I remember the first time I heard my son sing.  He was about 14 and I had the radio on in the car and he was singing along with it, harmonizing beautifully and it brought me to tears so badly that I had to pull off the road.  I looked at him with such amazement and pride.  He went on to conduct the choir in college and once I took him with to a karaoke bar just for giggles and he wowed everyone there singing my favorite song.

I can see your daughter having a great career ahead of her.  She's great!!!!!!!!!

The first one that minds will be beheaded in the town square!, by order of this damn King!  [smiley=grin2.gif]

Patience, is what El and I share. I will spend ten hours on one rail (mirror finish) to make it perfect, it never costs me extra because I always add perfection time into my price.

Ellen has a bright future if she follows that dream, bro!

Hi George,

Robert Fulghum wrote a book called something like "Everything You Need to Know You Learned in Kindergarden".

One of which is to SHARE! I'm thinking you got that one down. Would be really disappointed if you stopped.

Someday, I'm going to able to say I saw Ellen's work BEFORE she was famous. It was on a little website called ch.com (thanks DJ), filled with crackpots, crackedheads, crackerjack caring, and a whole bunch of people who know talent when they see it.

I'm also thinking I would have missed it all without the beast. He, she, whatever, may carve out a chunk of my life, but "it" can't have my soul or the appreciation for the good things in life.

Keep 'em coming, thanks for sharing (and Ellen; one poem, or drawing, or story from you, is better medicine than I have been able to find).

Regards,

Jon
