Title: OUR PETS...
Post by Langa on Apr 15th, 2008, 5:03pm
Cyn and I have been sharing stories of our Doxies and she sent me the following pics that I thought were just too adorable not to post.  From what I understand, Basha abuses Deogee and he lets her.  One day he's going to sit on her to teach her a lession.  LOL - Isn't Deogee Regal looking?  I love Dobermans.

Enjoy and please add your own pics.  PD, you mentioned a huge cat of yours and I wanna see his pic!  LOL

Basha and Deogee (when she first got Basha)...

Basha not a baby anymore - on their favorite chair (who are we kidding - the whole house is theirs).

No, Basha is not smiling...she's being disturbed in her sleep.  Peanut will growl in her sleep if I as much bump into her.  [smiley=huh.gif]

Cute pet pics so far.  Brew, your Woodie travelogue is hysterical!

I'm currently petless, but I do have a favorite yard critter--Bif.

Woodie's travelogue is brought to you by someone who has more talent in her little finger than I have in my whole soul, my lovely bride, Mosaicwench. She's the one who knows how to use Photoshop.

Here is Ringo, on Kirk's new bike. He, of course, thinks it's his. That's my foot in the pic, just got the bike, and had to keep it inside the first night, in the kitchen. You can see, Ringo takes up the whole seat. Pixel wouldn't even take up half of it.

This is Pixel. She is the size of a normal cat, about 10 lbs, very sweet tortoiseshell with orange eyes. Ringo has light blue eyes, and weighs about 22 lbs, but he's very big boned, not fat at all. He's part ocicat.

This is Ringo, when he was only a few weeks old. He fit into the palm of my hand (that is my hand). He's in his carry bag, my OUCH bag from the Dallas convention. Kirk had to take him everywhere to keep him fed with a bottle. We'd give him a warm bath and rub his belly so he'd "do his business", mama cat's lick their kittens bellies to stimulate that, then I'd roll him up in a warm dry washcloth, just like a burrito, and dry him off. He used to be really tiny. He also used to be white, with stripes on his legs. He's really a sweet cat too, who thinks he's a person. ;) You know how cats are...

Brew, the photoshop work your wife did with Woodie was too funny.

PD, Ringo looks pregnant...lol...wow...that is one big cat - 22 pounds.

I love cats, but can't stand the hair, especially at shedding time...ugh.

I just walked Peanut and she was trying to get at some deers at the back of the house.  Crystal says Peanut is Ghetto...LOL

Thanks for all the pics guys.

Well sadly my little Kitler isn't around any more - except in my heart but here he is as I'll always remember him.. six inches away from whereever I was. That cat was the most devoted and loving animal I've ever known.

Kitler asleep on my desk - yes he was actually asleep LOL

http://inlinethumb34.webshots.com/42913/2698326440074489379S500x500Q85.jpg

and when he got too big to sleep in the basket he still wasn't leaving my side!

I miss Kitler so much. Losing him so soon after Pussolini was rotten. Now we just get visits from Widdle, a cat who used to be Brid's but took off a few years ago and found herself a new home (she didn't like us moving here I think) and she just visits once in a while. I'm not getting any more pets because of everything else so I share Pauls - so why is it I'm the one with punctures?!

This little horror is one of my two ginger hooligans who insist they have climbing rights on me every time they see me LOL

Another Doxie lover - they do like to be held like a baby don't they.  Brew I just noticed your dog has short legs too.

Helen, the pic of your cat lying on it's back by the keyboard is adorable.  I used to have a cat that was so sweet and loving, her name is Angel.  My ex-sister in law took her in when I got divorced since I couldn't have animals in my new place.  I miss her, but she had an undercoat and springtime all I did was vacuum up hair...I used to joke that I was going to be the one to cough up a hairball.

That's what we call him: Short-legger.

The Pembroke Welsh Corgi breed developed in Pembrokeshire, Wales, and was used to drive cattle by nipping their heels and barking. His low stature helped him roll out of the way when a cow kicked. Corgis still maintain that habit when chasing each other.

Mungo would get anything from with those eyes... :)
I want to see the pics of the cats and the birds  :).  The only bird in my family was one my brother owned, Max - a parrot.  He died a while ago.  He used to whistle every time I walked into the room.   :-[

Pat, I had a beaver family living under one of my sheds in my old house.  Peanut, unfortunately, thought their poop was quite delish... [smiley=hurl.gif]

My rescued puppy Scooter (came with the name) relaxing in a mountain cabin. Insofar as my worldly friends are concerned, he's the king!

Scooter is one lucky dog.

Not only was he rescued but he was taken to a mountain cabin to snooze in the sunshine!!  It doesn't get any better than that.

Lucky dog indeed and lucky owner to have found such a cutie of a pup.
