Title: COT...
Post by cynjeep89 on Apr 6th, 2008, 12:52pm
...I can't say I was much of a fan of the COT but seeing Michael McDowell walk away from this crash changed my mind a bit.  Whew!

That was the hardest hit I have seen in Nascar. Thanks to the COT and the safer barriers. He was one lucky dude, this time. 8)

Go Jr. Go!! [smiley=cool2.gif]

That was horrid..gotta give the COT and NASCAR credit for that life saved....and of course the crew that built the car to such high specs.

Jackie, I love your present!!  I want one!!  Way to go Blake!

I got my new Jr. double sided flag, garden flag and window decals for the Jeep and motorhome.  Jr's # change has been somewhat expensive for his fans.  I was thinking of sending my bills for all of this new merchandise to Teresa Earnhardt. ;;D

I am so glad that Jeff Burton and McDowell cleared the air before this crash.  If anything serious had happened to McDowell, I'm sure Burton would have felt terrible.

Nice die-cast Jackie. That was nice of Blake to do that for you.  Hey Angie, hint hint, nudge nudge. ::)

Poor kid probably had to change everything he was wearing.

I must have shouted "Holy Sh*t" about 20 times while watching that crash and am still mumbling it each time they re-run it on TV.

Fox just showed another replay of the crash but with new sound. I believe it was from inside the car, gave me chills to watch and listen.

Nascar has it together with the safer barriers and cars I only wish they would of done this 20 years ago we would still have some very good drivers left. Mr D.E. Sr., Adam Petty, & Kenny Irwin to name a few. Terry

I agree with you, Terry.  I think all of the tracks are supposed to have the safer barriers by 2009.

I found this article written by Marty Smith of ESPN.  He is the reporter who wrote the article on the camper fire at Dover a couple of years ago.  I was shocked when he called me to get the details of the fire.  He was a very cool guy to talk with and I like his writing.

Mark Harmon.....my hat's off to you!!

I saw the re-runs of it during the race today. Holy crap!

And I agree with you Terry. Wish the safer barriers/cars  were around years ago :(

It was a horrendous crash.  It's amazing he walked away like he did.

For those of us that do not follow NASCAR, COT means Car of Tomorrow:
