Kirk, on his new recumbent bicycle. Perfect way to get around town. He loves it.  :)

A real low "easy rider".  Great exercise and looks pretty solid, well built.  Watch for speed bumps with the low chain in back.   Looks like shock absorbers on the front wheels, too.  Now to put cool decals on it like a tongue-tying "mellow yellow metal pedal feller.

Chrome fenders now so you don't get any splashed muddy stuff if it's wet out.

Gives Chewy ideas about pedals on his La-Z-Boy to let the dog out and grab another hamsammich, to the sound of a balloon in the spokes.

Now you have to get some clothespins and a nice, stiff deck of playing cards so you can have them go clackety-clack in the spokes. That's livin' large.

:) very cool.

The little flag on the back cracks me up :D
Seriously though, make sure the flag is tall enough so people in cars can see you if you are riding up and down hills and crossing streets.

It's cool Kirk but you need to put some headers on that baby and at least a 289 engine.

I like it. You need a big horn and a boombox for your neighbors.

Its a pretty nice trike. Its a Catrike "Road" that I picked up in Springfield. It has Ackerman compensated self centering steering, and Avid disc brakes. It has a Shimano Duoro 9 gear cassete with an X-7 derailer on the back. The extra gear is why the derailer swings so low. Ground clearance is only 3 inches, so my butt knows about it before the derailer does. There are no shocks on it. So road feel is pretty rough sometimes.
My head is at about the same height as a Toyota Corolla door handle. Which is why I put the flag on it. I was thinking of a skull and crossbones. But Orange shows up a lot better. I won't say how fast it goes. Chris worries enough as it is. And would probably ground my low flying butt.
There are a lot of great reasons to own one of these things. The best one is that, they are great fun.
The website is http://www.catrike.com  I have the Road model.

Reminds me of the little bus I used to take to school. But I had to wear a helmet. :'(

Very Cool.

May I suggest you put a shark fin up too ? It would be hilarious to see the other drivers faces when they look out their car window and see a shark fin sailing past !

JAWS .....   ;;D

The only dogs that have bothered me so far. Were two Pit Bulls, that came out of a yard looking for trouble. While looking at all those teeth at ground level was no fun. The cattle prod I keep velcroed on the right side of my seat sent them back home in a fair hurry.
As for cars. Most people wave at me. They seem to get a kick out my little trike wizzing through traffic. I stay on streets that are 30 MPH or less though.
The idea, is to get a good cardio work out, and have fun. Not be speed racer. Although the damn thing is addicting.

He sure gets around on that thing. He knows the streets here better than I do! I don't worry too much, except for those speedy very young drivers, who may not be paying as much attention as they should be.

Truth be told... I want one! But, I'll have to settle for my 10 speed, which, when I get the tires aired up, will be riding to work and back. It's about a mile away, and there's a bike rack right next to the door. At least I can beat the traffic out when first shift gets off, which is when I leave. I've got an extra bike lock ordered, Kirk is using mine.

At least we're saving gas, geez, I filled up the pick-up truck that I use at work, and the pump stops at $100.00. Doesn't even fill up the tank.  ::)

i was up in topeka indiana north west of fort wayne yesterday. the community was predominately amish. those trikes were pretty popular up there. just sitting in my truck watching them cruise around it seamed like they were the sports car model among the other plain bikes and trikes.  ;;D
