Am I nuts? I already have two boys, 5 and 3, a 15 year old dog and a husband that just started working 12 hour days for a few months. And I adopt a puppy... I never claimed to be right in the head! ;)

Ashlee is adorable and so lucky to be getting a good home.

Congrats on the new addition to the family.

I just spent a while looking at the Petfinder website and wish I could adopt another Dobie or Doxie but the two I have are enough to handle right now. I need to stay away from websites like that......too much of a softie for dogs.

just watch those legs though they'll snap like a twig... I never thought I would say that to anyone... but I have lived that nightmare with a little doggie. Be very careful with that little adorable cutie...

How adorable! She is so cute. You are nuts, but you've got a big heart taking on a rescue mutt. It's the best kind of nuts to be!!

You're making me want another one now too, but I think OH would hit the roof if I even suggested it!

But maybe one more wouldn't hurt.... :)

Well, since she doesn't respond to her own name at 7 months, 6 of those spent with the previous owner, we decided to change her name. My boys have picked out Baby. Our other dog Peanut is a 10 lb poodle-schnauzer mix, so our boys are use to small dogs and know they can't be rough. We adopted Peanut from the pound, our hamster was adopted from Petco after someone dropped her off and said they didn't want her anymore, so going thru the shelter is just second nature to us.

The shelter was nice enough to send us home with a copy of the personality profile that the other people filled out, so we know what she will need work on. When I went to this shelter, I drove an hour to get there to see another dog that was online, but after hearing that he was aggressive with other dogs, I knew he wouldn't fit with my 15 year old dog. So, I found this one, they just gotten her online yet, she'd been there 1 day. So, I lucked out. There was someone who got there right after me that wanted her as well after they got petfinder updated. But, I can pick her up on Friday, after getting spayed on Thursday!
