Title: my latest acquistion- need suggestions
Post by PollyPocket on Mar 31st, 2008, 7:10pm
In about 2 weeks, Im getting a hot tub  [smiley=grin2.gif]

Here's where y'all come in:  if you're standing in the backyard, facing the house, there is a 6 x 6 deck off the backdoor on the left side, about 2.5' off the ground. Then an 8.5' space, then the deck takes up most of the right side of the house, again 2.5' off the ground.

The tub is going in that space between porch and deck on a paver/gravel base. The kitchen window is above the tub, but at my height, I cant see the tub.

I need inexpensive ideas on how to decorate around this area and make it really cool.   Ideas?

thats the problem Jacks. Everything I see on there involved gazebos and stuff I so can't afford.  I'm getting the hot tub because one of our customers upgraded theirs and Im getting their old one.

We have very creative people on here and I thought some might come up with some really cool inexpensive ideas.

Jonny, Jonny, Jonny,  ..... standing next to it????? puleeeez!   ::)

How about putting up some of that lattice board on the side facing the yard, start some clematis or other climbing flowering vine and also mix in some white small indoor outdoor christmas type lights.  We also have a large garden umbrella that swings over ours, hubby built the bracket for that one.  It is great to keep the snow off your head in the winter, but can also be moved and closed to see the stars.

oooh, that sounds pretty Bridget.  And the fragrance at night would be lovely!

edit to add: Dennis, I like the stone walkway. We do concrete tear outs from time to time, and I could use the larger pieces to build a walkway like that.  And the 3 guys need to be better boy toys that that!  LOL

We use ours at night after the kids have gone to bed.  Right now, there is deck railing all the way around it, but it only comes to the top of the tub, so it doesn't afford much privacy.  So this is on my wish list to put up around ours, as it is visible from the street.

put some tropical foliage around it so you get that feeling of being in a remote tropical beach and get a nice tall table so you can put your mixed drinks near you , big enough so refills are right at hand and install some sorround sound speakers for listening your favorite music, oh and keep a biombo like this one in case you want to get a lot more privacy  8) for whatever else you want to do in there...

All I can come up with is something involving plastic sheeting and oil. ;) Put in some of those bubble machines. Partytime.
I am such a gutter brain.
