My mom who's 78 was admitted into the hospital Monday with chest pains. They ruled out her heart but she has pneunomia and then after doing a CAT scan they found a mass on her right lung. They did a biopsy yesterday and we won't know the results for 24-48 hrs.
I've seen the powers of this board and what you all can do so if you could would you please keep her in your thoughts?

Dear Jim:

Waiting for the results of a biopsy is excruciating.  I had one a little while ago.  I hope and pray that it's not going to be a problem.

Pneumonia is a tough one.  I also hope and pray that she gets well from that quickly.

I'm blown away by your responses. I couldn't even get thru the thread this morning without losing it. You people will never know how much it means to know there are people out there thinking of us. Since I don't have much of a family it's good to know I have you guys to lean on when need be.
Unfortunately the new isn't good. It is lung cancer and they are recommending radiation therapy as oppposed to chemo. The Dr told me he didn't think she could hold up to chemo treatments.
I told her our new motto is 'one day at a time' and that's how we're going to approach it. I know there are going to be some tough days ahead but we'll take it as it comes...it's all we can do.

"One day at a time" is a good motto and approach for sure.

Tell Mom we all said hello and will keep her in our thoughts.  Moms are such cool people, aren't they?....and stronger than we could ever imagine.

Dear Cluster Family,

Thank you all, for your thoughts and prayers for Jim and his mom, Jo.  We've been telling Jo, through is message board, she's had people praying for her around the world.

This past Tuesday, Jo make the decision to forgo any more radiation treatments and went under the care of Hospice at the nursing home.  

Around 2pm this afternoon, Jo passed away.  Jim has been at her side, every moment since her her diagnosis.  He was there with her this afternoon.  

Please continue to keep them both in your prayers.

Sue I'm so sorry, our love is heading out to you and Jim and we'll be here all the time and any time you need us.

I'm glad Jim could be there with his mum as much as he was and I'm glad you both have each other now. Don't forget, you DO have us too.

My sincere condolences.  Your mom was a brave woman to forego treatment.  It takes courage to know when it's time.  I'm so happy she had a son who stood by her till the end.

What a privilege for Jim to be with her during the last days.

Being with a parent at the end can be  the hardest, grittiest, closest to the emotional bone time in one's life.

Did the basic same thing myself last June. It was hard letting her go, but soo much beter than waching her suffer.
My heart goes out to you.....

Mom Jo and Mom Margaret are both watching over us all...........and that's not so bad.........
