Title: My Work Is Finally Recognized Post by B14CK5H33P on Mar 23rd, 2008, 2:51pm I have done some remixes for Nine Inch Nails who, after releasing "Year Zero" last year, completed their contract with Interscope Records. Now, Trent has said "Fuck The Industry" and released his new album online "Ghosts I-IV" a collection of 36 intrumental tracks. Radiohead, also without a record contract, released their new album "In Rainbows" to great fanfare online. Since the recording industry has beeb ripping off artists and fans for decades, they got greedy with the new technology and started suing grandmas and 11 year olds for 'downloading music illegally'. Geez, I wonder why they never went after the manufacturers of cassette recording devices. Oh yeah, they still had enough money to pay for their strippers and coke. With the advent of technology, the fat middleman is fearing being cut out. Trent Reznor has stated "This is an exciting time to be working in music for both musicians and fans, as the boundaries are now limitless." I submitted two of my remixes to NIN.Com, and they are now up and available for anyone to stream or download. [smiley=headbanger.gif] I almost cried when I got this email. You see, Trent Reznor is one of my biggest idols in music, as he records his albums by himself, then throws the band together to tour. He is a musical genius, and when I heard he was doing a 3 disc set of instrumentals, I got scared. However, not one track is boring. Instead, like music did before the video age, it lets your mind wander and dream. Some people don;t know this but, Marilyn Manson would have never got signed were it not for Trent. No label wanted Mary. Interscope gave Trent his own label and he named it Nothing Records. He said, "The first artist I am signing is Marilyn Manson." They told him there was no way, that they already turned him down. So Trent said, "Fine. If my label doesn't carry Manson, you no longer carry Nine Inch Nails." so they gave in. Anyone interested in hearing or downloading the remixes I did can go to: http://remix.nin.com/play/mix?id=7059 = My Violent Heart (Downward Spiraling Mix) http://remix.nin.com/play/mix?id=7028 = The End of The Beginning (Danger Chaos Mix) The last track I removed all of Trent's guitar work and added my own. It was a joy to hear my guitarwork with NIN. Now, I am overjoyed for it to be on NIN's website. Due to physical problems, I almost gave up internet radio, and had to cancel alot of shows. However, my fanbase cheered me on to return, and welcomed me back to the cyber airwaves, and the March 19th Randy Rhoads tribute special was magical. So, I prepare for another Soylent Sunday this evening, but thought I'd pop in with some good news for a change. Peace, Carl D PS - I typed alot more, but after reading it back realized that it was more info than most of you care to know, and those who do care to know, know where to find me. |
