PLEASE post here and let me know when you get yours. I sent out 45 emails.

To open them you have to have "word" on your computer.
Open them in word. If you can not open it let me know and I will send it in Note pad !

I made one mistake so far, please add under Gayle's address "Canada" needs to be put  after Yukon Territory. Please make that change on your copies. Sorry about that Gayle my bad !

You guys don't forget to Thank Linda and her Jim. Jim helped big time. Matter of fact he taught me a little about word I did not know. He helped me with the format. Couldn't have done it this well with out them.

I have emailed them all out that sent me their email address.
If you did not receive yours and you wanted it emailed to you .
Just send me a email and I will reply to it and send you the book. If you can not get it to open, I have it in Notepad and I can email it to you that way.
I am waiting till the end of the week to snail mail to the ones that wanted it sent postal.
I am marking your names off as you post that you recieved the address book. Please post as you get it.

As you know, I have not received it yet.  

To all computer techies!!!  Elaine has e-mailed the book to me twice, yet no message from her shows up in my inbox, spam box, held mail box, virus box - nothing???

I have e-mailed Elaine, and have added her address to my address book.  Elaine is going to send a reply to my message, attaching the word doc.  Do you think this will work?

I don't know why her messages can't get through to me.  She is not blocked in any way.

Suggestions?

I've uploaded a copy of the ch address book to my server. If you would like a link to it for download, PM me and I will be happy to send you the link. If this is not OK with Elaine or if anyone can see a reason that I should not do this please let me know.

Hi Tony, I don't understand a lot about servers. I don't want these peoples address and phone numbers where the public can get it. I promised it would only be to the people who sent in their address here on ch.com.
I am snail mailing her a copy tomorrow through the USPS.

Hi Elaine,

I understand fully and share your concern.
I had no intention of passing out the link to anyone that was not on the actual address list, and thought it would be easier for those listed to be sent a user specific link if they were having problems receiving your emails, as was the case of the person I responded to in the thread. My intention was to make the download available to the person on request and ask for a confirmation when it was received after which time it would not be available.

Let's say you requested the document.... I would send you a personal link address and when you downloaded the file you send me a pm that you received it... I would then make the document non accessible with the link that I sent you.To deter people from sharing the link after a day or two I would disable the link.

My address is included on the list also and I would not want it to be in just anyone's possession.  ;)

At its simplest, a "server" is nothing more than a computer that provides services or resources to other computers. In that sense there's nothing very special about being a server. In fact, if your machine has file sharing enabled and others are able to copy files to and from your machine then your machine is a file server.

Hey Sweetie, I appear to have a similar problem to Sandy's. Did you get the email I sent you the other day? It did not bounce back and you have been in my contact list forever so I can't figure it out. Could this be yet another crappy dialup issue?

    Nope. You convert the .doc file to the International Standard Open Document Format. That way you can read it with any wordprocessor or editor.

I was out of town Fri, Sat & Sun, (seeing my gorgeous granddaughter who, at 10-1/2 weeks is the smartest, prettiest, cutest, bestest little baby girl in the world - and I am not biased  ::)).

Oh, sorry, back to subject.  As of yesterday, haven't gotten the snail mail.  I've asked hubby to call me this afternoon to let me know whether it came in today or not.

Elaine, If it's not here today, and you haven't already snail mailed (let me know), I will contact Tony for the download.
I don't want you paying postage and garbage like that if you don't have to.
