Title: Pictures from abroad Post by RabidClock on Mar 22nd, 2008, 7:04am I mentioned a while back that I worked overseas - thought I'd share some recent photos. http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb163/rabidtux/DSCN0012.jpg http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb163/rabidtux/DSCN0011.jpg http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb163/rabidtux/DSCN0008.jpg This is Haditha dam, it's located to the north of the Al Anbar province in Iraq. http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb163/rabidtux/P1010938.jpg This is an area called Naray, it's towards the western end of Afghanistan near the Pakistani border. http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb163/rabidtux/IMG_0502.jpg http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/bb163/rabidtux/IMG_0424-1.jpg These were taken at a base deep in the Hindu Kush mountain range in Afghanistan not far from Pakistan and China. The helicopter is landing in the shallow part of the river. Before anyone asks, no I'm not military :P I hung up the uniform 2 years ago. I'm just a contractor these days. |

You'll have to post more when you can, it's always so nice to see other parts of the world. From me and my kids too - a huge thank you for serving and keeping us all safe. Safe travels Helen |

Title: Re: Pictures from abroad Post by RabidClock on Mar 22nd, 2008, 1:47pm I really wasn't expecting all the thanks, just wanted to show off my rad pictures :). But thank you all. I'm pretty safe out in the Al Anbar province, it's being controlled by the Marines so they keep it well policed. I think downtown DC or Baltimore is far more dangerous. |
