Title: Titanium bracelet - effective or hogwash?
Post by marlinsfan on Mar 21st, 2008, 3:43pm
Happy easter everyone!

Once in while I check out a CH page in Spain. It's very small with only a few members, but many of them swear that this titatium bracelet is doing wonders for them keeping the headaches away..... Has anyone here had experience with anything similar? I'm only posting the picture and not the site that sells them (for 115 Euro's, by the way, not cheap) as I don't want anything thinking I'm peddling this.

It is as effective as ones belief in it I guess.  Some people swear by "bio magnets" to cure all kinds of things.  Plecebos have been proven to work.

I'll stick with the trex.

I thought it was for arthritis ?

How does a small electromagnetic field around the wrist affect the neurotransmitters in the brain ?

Well Annette it's like this.

You know when your kids run a magnet over the TV screen it makes it go wafty? (technical term)

Well having scalectrix magnetoids near your neurotrasmogrifiers cancels out all the heebee jeebee so the mumbo jumbo can kick in.

Or something like that.

I'm thinking of submitting my theory to the Lancet so don't none of you be plagiarising me. That means YOU Ting Tong 8)

How do you fit that little thing around your head?  Seems it would make more sense...  Let's just say, I'll keep my 115 euros.

My other half belives the magnet thereoy for his aches and pains.(mostly knees - he gets lots of knee pain)

We paid £65 for a braclet type thing for him, I do not know if it works or not but as Rob said it does no harm (except to the pocket)

Who is to say?

Hmmm... I have a titanium clip in my brain, and I believe, a titanium plate holding my skull together. Didn't help the CH...but the plate created some wicked cool dents in my head.  ;)

It's always nice to hear from you, Jose... I need Marco pics.

hugs, nani

I think using magnets *might* work if you can place them on the area of the pain...something about attracting the iron in your blood to the area so that the aching spot has more nutrients or blood to heal?  I dunno...somewhere along those lines I think...I tried them a long time ago (I was 12) when I broke my shoulder.  I'm not even sure if it worked then....
I can kinda imagine some benefit to a tension-type headache if you can place them directly on your forehead.  Magnets could attract extra components in your blood to tense muscles (possibly?)....but I don't see how they are going to help CH.

Hey if the magnets don't work for your CH you could put them on the fuel line on your car/truck to increase your gas milage!!

If the four Titanium cages in my spine, and the two new Titanium hips haven't helped my CH.  Not much chance that piece of crap is going to do me any good.

Tend to slice a little with it, but it surely hits it far.

It's great for my periodic stiff neck and back pain.  BTW, you can get them at Wal Mart for five bucks.

Yes you can get a magnetic bracelet but not a Titanium one.

But the Titanium has nothing to do with how it works, just the magnets.

Well, that clears that up.

The little "eye roll" guy made me think of something else.

No, don't need any "enhancement" in that department, thank you very much.

I was kind of wondering if my titanium vasectomy clips might have any effect, but as your bride pointed out, it's the magnets that do the dirty work, not the titanium.
