Hey thanks.... I found "Under $100" for my late husband. An electric deposit - account closed out back in 92 - guess they sent it to a post office box we'd closed out too.... Now I've got to get the paperwork together to send off for it. But am checking for anything else that might be on there..... Who knows - some rich uncle might of left me something and they couldn't find me....

I've been having an exasperating time with this. I've typed in the name of every person in my family and NADA!!!

I figured if I found something I can get a cut of it. For finders fees or something. [smiley=huh.gif]

Tha's okay, I typed in both of my grandparents' and it's seems as if they are/were owed money (says over $100.00). Now all I have to do is get copies of their death certificates and obituaries (and since Grandmother died in 2000 and Grandaddy died in 1985, that should be a lot of fun finding those obits).

Apparently my folks found this a while ago and I have several relatives on there. .. anyway, Dad said it cost more to try and get the money than was there to get. yeah well.

I did this a while back. I think there is a "finder's fee" or something like that on some of these third party websites. Most states have their own webpages where you can check for unclaimed money and file a claim for it without it costing anything. It does take a while to process. Took a couple months or more before I got the check in the mail, but at least I did get it and every little bit helps.

It is my understanding that there should not be a fee to recover/claim money held by the state.
I didn't have anything on the list so I haven't persued recovery.
