I've been a little "verklempt" today since I read the birthday wishes here, opened birthday cards and read an e-mail from my Mom. Hope I don't bore you too much with this but I want to share and show you what an amazing lady my Mom really is. Here is the e-mail she sent to me: "First thing on my mind this morning! Woo-o-o Ho-o-o! It's your birthday.... What a happy day for me. I remember it like it just happened yesterday. Grandmom was hoping you'd be born on the 16th which was her birthday. Grandpop drove me to Metropolitan Hospital on 3rd & Spruce St...over BUMPY Delaware Avenue. Dr. Sidney Snyder, DO examined me at noon and said you wouldn't be born until after the Late Show, which was on TV around 11PM each night. Boy, was he wrong. He had to leave his patients during visiting hours which were 1-3PM, to come back and deliver you! Dr Snyder lived and had his office in a 3 story home in the 2900 block of Richmond St..Your father did a lot of tile work for him at that office and also at their summer home in Brigantine, New Jersey. We also got to spend a couple weekends there. Dr. Snyder's wife gave me the recipe I use for Turkey Frame Soup. Do you remember the children?. He had a daughter with red hair named Barbara and a son Jerry and 2 other sons whose name I can't remember. This is the same doctor who took care of you when you had febrile convulsions... A little bit of Cyndi's biography. I've probably shared this info with you more than once but they are such happy memories and I'm a little sentimental today. Wish I could relive it all once more! I LOVE YOU!!!! Mom" I thought today would be just another birthday but I have a feeling it's gonna be a good one. Thanks again, everyone. Y'all sure brought a smile to my face. :) |
