dad had a doc's appointment for "no big deal at the hospital, don't come now, just come later". He didnt tell mom anything more.

So, stubborn jackass Dad that he is went in to the hospital, WITHOUT TELLING ANYONE, for a heart catheterization, and possible insertion/implant (not sure of that procedure) of a defibrilator.

Here's the kicker: Dad has been short of breath a LOT. He was like that 18 years ago too, right before he had a massive heart attack and was dead for 26 minutes! Mom decided to go with him to the docs today and found out what the truth was while there. Needeless to say, she wigged out.

Sis has been keeping me updated, Mom is not home yet, and no new news from sis. Mom is an angry mess according to my sis, and could use a few spare vibes. Dad thinks cuz he "came back" the last time, that he is invincible... grrr. He has diabetes he won't take care of, does nothing to take care of himself, and then hid the heart issues from my mom.

DO I HAVE TO GET THE BELT, DAD!?!?

Anyway, Mom could use some good vibes.

And that doctor is always trying to stick his finger in our ass. You girls don't get that, do you? :-/ Maybe I need to change doctors, I don't know.

Anyway, J, don't beat the old man with a belt....he's just being a guy. It's all in the rulebook.

We men can be stubborn or just trying to save unnecessary worry for our loved ones, Modern Medicine and the procedures today are Great today and I have friends with defib's and stints that have kept them healthy for many years.
Try to stay positive and pray for your Dad's health!

spoke w/mom earlier. They took some xrays and found that one of the electrode thingies isnt in the right location so they're redoing the defib.

Also, there is an area at the bottom of his heart that is weak and has an aneurism but the docs are dealing with that (don't ask me how- I got confused when mom was explaining it). All the bypass areas from the previous heart attack look great. So he's still in the hospital till tomorrow, but otherwise, doing well.

Mom is glad he is staying there!
