5500 per hr one time just might be cheaper if you didnt have the marriage thing going on or an FBI wiretap.

ANY woman who would stand there stupidly like his wife did today after what he put her and their teenage daughters through...is, in my opinion a total idiot. Hillary did it, and a few others in the last few years too. That's not strength. It's lunacy.

I watched that and I was yelling at her...WHY???????

What I hate is fu..ing Dr. Laura, on tv, saying a woman who doesn't boost her man's ego and kiss his posterior is sending him off to a hooker. That is the biggest crock I've ever heard. He went to expensive hooker because he could afford it and he did not value his marriage vows.

I don't agree with what he did, but I can honestly say it happens more often that most people think.

not everyone goes to a hooker or cheats. If someone does that, it is their decision, not their spouse's decision. Marriage seems to have a 50/50 success rate. That is because there are 2 people in a marriage, and one can not control another person or live their life.

I didn't think this thread that Batch started was about what the wife did wrong. Which of course we don't know if in fact she did anything wrong. Every newscaster is saying it was all about power and how powerful people think they are above getting caught.

I do want to add that it would have been so much better if she grabbed the microphone away from him and said "you know what? I hate you you bastard!"
It was very aggravating to watch her just stand there. And then somehow when he was "apologizing" to the country it, to me, sounded like he was very pleased with himself, even adding that "inspirational" quote at the end about "rising after you fall"--like he was referring to himself in a highly bizarre manner as if he had just achieved something great. What a jerk.

Very interesting point being discussed here. So if the husband strays and the wife forgives him ( for whatever reason between the 2 of them ) she will be seen as an idiot, not the bigger person ?

Our famous cricketer Shane Warne here have had tales of blatant betrayal to his wife and children plastered across the media more than 10 times before his wife walked out on him. She kept forgiving him and he kept doing it. She was seen as the bigger, forgiving person though who was trying to keep the family together for the children, not as a weak silly housewife.

In this particular case, maybe she is standing next to him ( not by him ) to give her lawyers time to draw up some nice divorce settlement clauses .... :P

That is interesting about the cricketer's wife being perceived positively. I think Silda must be strong to stand there and hold her temper in--I know I for one would have gone ballistic. I would say it is more than simple cheating in his case--it is paying for high-priced prostitute repeatedly, the fact that she is 22 yrs. old and the fact that Silda is better looking than him (this may be a superficial observation) but if I were Silda I would be very enraged at his arrogance. I think if she stays to hold the family together that is fine. I don't think men should be taken too seriously--this guy is a perfect example of that--Mr. Clean--funny. Silda should just take care of herself and her kids and not let her husband get her down. Maybe down the road she will find someone way better and dump cheatin' hubby. Like you said, I don't know them, I don't know if they had this kind of conversation, but the big deal here would be that now the governor of NY who prosecutes others for doing what he did has now been caught. This has made his actions everyone's business. He has not said anything about being given permission to use hookers by his wife. I'm positive he was not given permission by the people of NY whom he serves.

So in this case, it is everyone's business. Whether or not we wanted it to be.

Could it be that she was thinking she should try to keep "face" by pretending to be civilised to him in public ? They might be at each others throat behind closed doors at home, who knows. Thats common human behaviours too, as in "not airing dirty laundry".
