Title: Time to move on
Post by jimmers on Mar 4th, 2008, 8:54pm
My dept. + $46,721.00 profit (Not even close to them salary wise)
Boss' dept. - $10,231.00 profit (70 K per year salary) losing money since he started.
Another dept within ours. -$54,789.00 (72K per year salary 1st yr.) losing money since he started.

Both of them make 20-21K per year more than I do. I have been patient and understanding for 2 years now and was handed empty promises. I thought it was time to pay the piper, evidently not. Seeya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New job tomorrow.

I'll keep in touch.

Jimmers

I'm 44 years old, I have the support of my Wife Barb to "Do what you need to"

I figure I have only 20 more years to work and make my own retirement. I have given blood, sweat and tears to this company and got "Porked" in the arse.

It sometimes is a little disheartening to have interns (College kids) hire on and get 9K more than me. Either they are smarter than me or, I was a bad contract negotiator! We'll see.

Sorry for the vent, but I know I will never be judged by my fellow clusterheads.

Thanx for listening, and Thanx jonny!!!!!!!!!!!!

44 years old and with your experience?  You will find something and it will pay more.  Every time one quits a job, they should ask for more at the next.  Always go for a job a little more difficult than you think you can do.  You'll be surprised at what you will find.

Good luck to you!

Thanks everyone!

I only have one thing to say, Linda Howell is truly an "Angel among us!" If everyone was half as kind as her, this world would be a much better place.

Love Ya Girl! :-*

There are a lot of good slots in the IT industry out there for someone with your skillset. And for decent money. Just leave "rm -r *.*" on your screen when you leave to remind them that you were there.
   Good luck. Please be well.

Phone interview tomorrow, final (If I'm one of the finalists) early next week.

Time to turn on the tact ;)

The beauty of it is, I can strap on my tool belt at any time and be in HIGH demand. A.K.A Exit plan!

My immediate boss told me yesterday at lunch that he told our manager that he is "Afraid Jim will leave us"

I think its time to go over both of their heads. Like they say "The squeaky wheel gets the grease"

Geeze, I sound like a little girl! ;;D Whiney little beeyatch :D

I'm gonna kick ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had my phone interview today and it went extremely well.

One of the questions was, "what is the acceptable down time for a T1 circuit for a business customer?"

My reply was "None" He loved the answer because I was the only person that said that, and that was the answer he was looking for.

Turns out he is an old school phone guy like myself and we got along just fine. I even made him laugh a little.
