Title: Re: OMG!!! The end of an era...Favre to retire.. Post by Redd on Mar 4th, 2008, 10:22am It's all over the news now.... A male co-worker with season home tickets is distraught. Near the panic stage. When our GM interupted this morning's meeting with the news, Mr. Packer fan tanning bed junkie turned ghost white in front of our eyes. For many of us fans it's sad news. For this guy, it's the end of the world. |

Title: Re: OMG!!! The end of an era...Favre to retire.. Post by jimmers on Mar 4th, 2008, 11:24am Good for him! Nothing left to prove, and he left it all out on the field with no regrets. Someone that plays because they love the game is very hard to find. |

Title: Re: OMG!!! The end of an era...Favre to retire.. Post by Callico on Mar 4th, 2008, 11:26am Now I no longer have to feel torn, cheering for the pack. (I didn't say THAT?) He did a great job, playing with so much fun and enjoyment, which is why I enjoyed pulling for him this year. Now I shall return to my normal sanity (?) . Go Bears! Jerry |

That's the thing, Jim - There were a couple of games toward the end of last season where he looked like he truly wasn't having fun anymore. Especially the windy, cold one at Soldier Field. |

Title: Re: OMG!!! The end of an era...Favre to retire.. Post by Jonny on Mar 4th, 2008, 6:54pm The word on Boston sports radio (dont know if its true) is that Favre met with Randy Moss recently and when hearing that he was staying with the Pats, Brett decided to give it up. |

Title: Re: OMG!!! The end of an era...Favre to retire.. Post by Karla on Mar 5th, 2008, 9:09am Hearing that Jonny doesn't really surprise me. Farve was very mad last year that the Packers didn't do enough to recruit Moss and let it be known. I wondered when I heard Moss went to the Pats what Brett was thinking. Now I know. |

Title: Re: OMG!!! The end of an era...Favre to retire.. Post by Bob P on Mar 5th, 2008, 9:50am You guys talking about the 18 and no Pats? They had a good season but we all know who's wearing the champion rings. Favre didn't look like he enjoyed the cold games against the Bears and Giants. Didn't look like his heart was in it. Reminded me of trout fishing in the Sierra - I always anxious to go but once I'm standing in the cold at 5 in the morning, I wonder what the heck I'm doing there! Bravo to Favre for a great career. I'll miss him. |

Absolutely. One of the good guys. It occurred to me that my 16-year-old son has never known another QB for the Packers. I got a chuckle out of Bradshaw's butt in "Failure to Launch". I always remember when I was a kid and my dad & his buddies (the Schlitz bunch) would rattle the windows cheering the Pack. Starr, Horning, Nitchky kicking the Cowboys around. Always have been and always will be a Packer fan. Nothing better than watching them play while munching a Usingers salami! |
