Title: Leap Day Post by sandie99 on Feb 29th, 2008, 11:19am Today is Leap Day, or as we say back in here, Karkauspäivä (Running Away Day is the direct translation). http://www.timeanddate.com/date/leap-day-february-29.html Leap Day is one fun day for us ladies and possibly a little scary one for the fellows, because back in here, this is the day when women propose their partners and if they get "no" for an answer, the man must buy her the fabric she desires. :) I've read stories about women who proposed to someone who would refuse in order to get the fabric they want! ;;D For some reason, Leap Day has got a lot of media attention this year. Leap Day comes every four years, so it should be a practical day to get engaged, right? ;) Even my mother asked if I had planned to propose today... ;) Sanna |

Title: Re: Leap Day Post by Guiseppi on Feb 29th, 2008, 11:36am This is the "7th" anniversary of our first date! Back in 1980 my wife asked me out for our first date to a Sadie Hawkins party. They hold Sadie Hawkins Parties on leap year and the girls have to ask the guys out! Saves me a fortune on anniverasary gifts. ;) Guiseppi |
