Title: Re: Carol's Last Day At Work! Post by Grandma_Sweet_Boy on Feb 29th, 2008, 5:06pm It's been quite the day leading up to all of this. Seems my retirement started in November when my kids surprised me with that wonderfully awesome party that some of you even took part in!!! It's an odd feeling to know that never again will I have to get up at 5 - leave at 6:30 and spend my day (for the most part) irritating the hell out of lawyers and the like! In all these years- Bill and I have never spent more than one week at a time of "joined at the hip" - so I don't know how that's going to work for us. I'm a goer and he's a couch potato. Should be interesting. Thanks to all of you for your good wishes and kind words. Hugs Carol |

Title: Re: Carol's Last Day At Work! Post by Grandma_Sweet_Boy on Feb 29th, 2008, 10:11pm Barry does make a valid point! This will be the first time in 18 years or so that I've had to pay for anything to do with a vehicle. No more new car every two years either. Damn - what was I thinkin'!!!!! ;) Once I get my feet under me and figure out how one goes about not going to work every day - (trust me - that one is not going to be easy for me) then I do plan to do some travelling. There's lots to see and do in this country and a ton more places in the USA that I want to visit. Perhaps I'll just buy a little RV and do nothing but drive and couch surf!!!!! |
