She just called me at midnight (her time)and they're on their way to the hospital.

Her water broke but she wasn't having any contractions yet. She sounded scared and excited all at the same time. I told her we're all praying for a 'speedy Delivery' for her.

If I hear any updates from Jesse, I'll let you know.

I'm sorry this is so long but yesterday a coworker sent me this message. I sent it to Mellissa at lunch time and lookie what happened a few hours later!!!!

If she's born today, it's between Pat and Carol in the baby pool (depending on who gets closer to Ava's birth weight).

IT'S A GIRL

Mel Just called and sounded very weak but happy.

Ava weighed 8 pounds 8 ounces

20 inches long.

Born at 9:50 am

They had to do a C-section because she wasn't progressing fast enough and Ava was trying to be born sunny-side up.

She's totally healthy, 10 fingers and 10 toes

I gave her all the good wishes from you folks here and she said to make certain that I tell you Pat....IT'S A GIRL! then she tried to laugh but it hurt.

I'm going to start another thread for Melissa. Acutally for Ava but I wanted to tell you here first.

This is Mels second family and she printed out the birth predications thread to put in Ava's baby book, so how about we have a thread that Mel can print out with messages for Ava, pictures of her adopted aunts and uncles and anything else you want to add. ?

I think that wouold mean a lot to Mel and someday to Ava when she looks back on it.
