Title: Down 7 lbs.
Post by jimmers on Feb 26th, 2008, 10:02pm
Smaller portions for dinner and no beer for 1 1/2 months and I'm 7 lbs. lighter! I guess 7 crown doesn't have as many calories as MH Life. Either that or its the stress! Lol

Now I just have to get my arse on the treadmill and lose another 15 and I'll be my old svelt self :D

Time to get rid of the "Dickey Do" Lol

Thomas muscle weighs more than fat (not that I'd bloody well know!) so as long as you've lost inches that's what counts!  :)

Oh believe me, I know.  I am just going to have to work very hard to loose some weight also.  I'm getting older, the knees aren't quite as good as they used to be.

Linda, you shouldn't be eating and using your computer simultaneously anyhow. You could get gravy in your keyboard.

In between doc visits, I knew I had lost some weight. My buddy Mike, who has been acting as my avocate and P.O.A. was with me a couple of weeks ago when I went for the pain management consult.
There were 3 doctors taking down various info, and they asked if my weight had fluctuated within 10lbs in the past month and I said "I think so."
Mike spoke up, "It hasn't been no ten pounds though, no way."

The next day at my doc's office, the nurse said, "Wow. You've lost 15 pounds since you were here 3 weeks ago." I just laughed and said, "Could you tell that to my buddy in the waiting room?"

You could die tomorrow crossing the street.

Eat, drink and be happy before you die!  ;)

And you could live to be a hundred, with the last 20 years of your life being miserable.

I think Jimbo is playing the odds pretty well. Everything's a trade-off.

So far doing neither

Happy mediums can be struck. No reason a person can't do a little of both.

No sense adding 5 years to your life if they're going to be the 5 most miserable you'll have....They always say, "doing such and such will add x years to your life." Ever notice where those x years come? AT THE END! Never in the middle.

Way to go Jimmers!  Congrats.  Keep it up.

My first question would have been, "what the heck is your Dickey Do?", but then you said your belly button sticks out further than Dicky.  Does this mean, according to your first post which says "Time to get rid of the Dickey Do", that you want to get rid of poor ole Dickey?  ;)

I do agree, getting rid of the beer does work wonders, and vodka doesn't seem to put on the same caloric intake as beer.   :D

I used to wear size 14 slacks (XL on the top), then went to 12.  Now the 12's are bagging in the rearm and down to just an L on the top.  I know I have lost weight, but haven't a clue as to how much.  The battery in my scale, which is some battery known only to the person who invented it, is unavailable to purchase anywhere.

All I know is, I've almost completely cut out beer (which I LOVE), eat sensibly (I still have chicken at least twice a week, steak once a week, BBQ pork ribs once a week, salad every night, veggies every night, and Klondike bars for dessert at least twice a week).  Oh, an yes, almost forgot...vodka a tonic daily.

Sandy
