Title: Here we go again...
Post by Redd on Feb 17th, 2008, 12:18pm

Quote:
Today
Mixed freezing rain...sleet...and snow changing to all snow early. The snow will be heavy at times. 5 to 10 inches of accumulation expected. Becoming windy with blowing and drifting developing...and near blizzard conditions possible during the afternoon. Highs around 30. North winds increasing to 20 to 30 mph. Chance of snow near 100 percent.

Tonight
Snow...possibly still heavy early. The snow will diminish to occasional light snow and flurries. Another inch or two of snow expected...bringing storm totals to 6 to 12 inches. Windy with blowing and drifting continuing. Lows 10 to 15. Northwest winds 15 to 30 mph. Chance of snow near 100 percent.

I see 6 inches out there already...

There is no school tomorrow, but I'll have to try to get out to work.  Anyone got a pair of snow-shoes I can borrow? :D

We're having freezing rain here as well.

Isn't it time for winter to be over!  Have we not had enough!  I know I have.

Stay safe out there everyone.

Carol

We live a couple of hours away from Carol and here is what the radar is saying. Freezing rain warning then rain then snow. :P

I hate to say it, but Monday is our new holiday called family Day so we do not have to go anywhere until Tuesday.

Works for us!!! ;;D Everyone else be safe if you have to travel in this.

Oooops, I forgot the link to the radar. We are pretty much in the middle of this mess.

I have this brick patio out behind my garage.  It is surrounded by 4 foot+ snow piles from keeping it shoveled, it is now a LAKE!   We had tons of freezing rain this morning and now just plain rain . . . . it's 42 freaking degrees!

I spent most of the morning rigging up a system with hoses and suction to draw the water off through my garage and down the driveway cuz it's 4 inches deep and heading into my basement!

My neighbors saw me and came over to help, bless their hearts (Brew was gone).  First I couldn't get into the shed to get the garden hose (who needs hoses in February in Wisconsin?), then we didn't have long enough hoses, the hoses were FROZEN,  and nothing to get the suction started . . . it was like the Keystone cops for awhile. . . .

All is well now though, the water is being syphoned off the patio and into the ditch at the bottom of the driveway (rather than running into my basement).  We also got the driveway cleared of all the ice so I don't have to snow blow it when the snow actually gets here.

I have a friend whose husband is a railroad engineer.  They closed the railroads in Milwaukee and surrounding areas today because everything is underwater . . .

It's gonna be wicked tonight.
Love WISCONSIN?  Not today, I don't. . . .

Landlord's son came through and blew out the sidewalks, but there is another 2-3 inches already and it's still coming down...

I can't wait for winter to be over...

As of 4:30 p.m. CST, not one snowflake in the Milwaukee area. Just freezing rain. And rain. And now the rain that was rain is now freezing. To everything.

This is the damnest winter I ever saw.

We had some snow here Bill, might be headed your way.
The country roads are full of ruts.

Since the last post, it is now snowing lightly.

Lots of snow up here.  Our Christmas light up reindeers antlers are showing...but that's it, LOL!

This reminds me of the winters we've had here while growing up.  The kids think it's just crazy, but to me, this is a normal winter. :)

This will be great for crops!

You're right - As long as it melts slowly.

And the spring doesn't bring increased rain to flood the fields.

Essentially snowless now, here in the valley, although it's a bit more spectacular just to the north of us in Boise County, where snowfall this winter has totalled something like 12 feet.

http://www.idahostatesman.com/235/story/295163.html

The Boise County Coroner was buried alive by snow sliding off her roof.  Fortunately, she was rescued, and did not require her own services.

Gonna be one helluva runoff.

Best,

George
