Hey Brew I've see that.  I would never have lasted in the '50's if that was what was expected.  I had an aunt that looked like Doris Day all the damn time and I was about 15 when I asked my mom if she really was a Stepford Wife.

Did you write that up all nice and give it to your wife for Valentines day, so that you could make sure that she would know her place? Or where you afraid that she might hand you your balls back, if you did.   8)

If I really believed all that, I wouldn't be writing to you now. ;)

Aw. You softer types would have loved the 50s. My dad fell all over my mom while she was mixing the Matinis  8)

Actually he took mom out for dinner two or three times a week.

This thread reminds me of a rug I saw earlier today. It had a text which said: "Husband and dog missing. Reward for the dog"... ;)

That's a good one! LOL

I remember once my mother had a boyfriend who always asked me for his beer.  My Mom heard that a 3rd time and she basically told him if he needs someone to fetch his fat ass beer, to go to the f'ing bar, her daughter is no bartender for any man.

He never asked again.  And they broke up quickly after.
My Mom was craaaaaaaaaazy.

Every wife and mother who cooks, cleans, drives the taxi service for her kids, AND works a 10 hour day.  In the 50's very few women worked outside the home.
