Will I get into big trouble by asking why you and many other Americans dont like her ( to say the least ) ? Since I am not American I am totally neutral towards her but I am just curious as to how she is viewed by her own peole.

Is it to do with her policies or is it something about her personally ?

The best part about being American is the ability to say someone in power sucks and the gestapo doesn't take you and grandma away.

I just hope she doesn't ruin it for a normal woman to be in office.  She has got quite the chip on her shoulder! (angry, selfserving, paranoid ,powerhungry, lying, delusional wench!)

Well, I'm a Democrat but....Hillary has a lot of negatives because she's smart. You are not supposed to be a powerful female unless you're on the right I guess. We've had a number of them over the years. Eleanor Roosevelt was reviled by the right for many of the same reasons. She spoke up too.

A lot of this began in the first year of Clinton's term when he put her in charge of setting up universal health care. She botched it....not at all helped by Republican lobbiest friends and their anti-health care commercials. She went on the attack too and said that "There is a vast right-wing conspiracy" against Bill. It was largely true when applied to the evangelical crowd. Bill is Satan in the bible belt. The 1994 election put the Republicans in control of Congress for the first time since the 1950s and they had a field day, not at all helped by Bill's libido. Later she became a New York Senator and just wouldn't go away. She's tough.
I can't say that I enjoy hearing her but she does know how to get help for my end of New York State. That's not easy so we keep voting for her.

The Clintons have been a helluva political machine and what grates on the right is that they have been so successful. No fair....just like the Bush machine is no fair.

Now Barack Obama seems to have a remarkable machine too. He just pulled ahead in the primaries. I can vote for either and in fact, John McCain is probably my favorite Republican. Things are looking up for me.  8)

It's going to be a fun year Annette.

It will be hard for Hillary to quit but the longer this thing goes on the better Obama does. It's the youngsters that really want him and some boomers like him but it's the 20 year olds. For the first time since JFK have we had somebody fun in the running. Regarless of your politics, I haven't seen a better speaker anywhere in years.

Democrats have the upper hand thanks to what Bush has done to wreck his own party. It's very possible that Obama will win. It's going to be hard for Hillary to win cleanly.

Either way, I'm tickled pink.

Of the three candidates remaining that still have a viable shot - Clinton, Obama, and McCain - all three are democrats. I'm sure Charlie is thrilled. ;)

I don't like her, because she has put up with her lying, cheating, philandering husband for the duration of their marriage (I don't give a flying rats a$$  if both of them *accepted* what he did, it paints a bad picture to me of what a strong, independent woman should be).

It's simple, follow the trail of dead bodies.  Or if that's not in your taste, research the "Whitewater scandal".  Oh, and there is the whole not being able to take a stand on an issue until the latest polling data has been compiled.  Just a few of her good points.

Well, I was surprised when Bill Clinton was proven guilty of sexual misconduct and infidelity yet wasnt kicked out of office immediately.

I thought America values personal freedom so much that such misbehaviours by a president could be accepted !

He wasn't impeached because of misconduct.  He was impeached because he lied.

I can accept that he can spooge on anyone's dress that he wants to, although it doesn't fit with my idea of morality.  Thing is, I was paying his salary to do a job.  Instead of doing that job, he was in the back hallway getting a job.  In any business you'd get fired for that.

That's a big misconception, most people really don't care about the sexual misconduct (he has a nice track record on that already), it was the fact that he lied to a federal grand jury, that's what the whole stink was about.

Then there is a problem with your political and justice system, because it means you can get away with things you shouldnt get away with, just because of who you are.

When a President is sworn into office in America, does he/she have to promise to "behave" in a certain ( morally acceptable ) way ?

A football player can get banned from playing for roudy behaviours off the field, such as getting drunk and fighting in a pub after hours, why should a president be allowed to stay in office after such a scandal ?

It doesn't say anything about fidelity to his wife.  If we disqualified our candidates according to some moral code we wouldn't have anyone in office.

Because professional sports is the great distractor, it keeps the populace's mind on other things, besides what the government is doing.  It keeps the wool over our eyes.  So professional athletes are held to a much higher standard, as their role is incredibly important in the power hungry political machine's grand scheme.

No they dont, politicians are the same the world over. However, we constantly hear people in the parliament being stood down ( mostly tempoprarily ) for offences such as domestic violence or getting drunk and getting into trouble in pubs etc.

To be very honest, and I might have people here get pissy with me,  Clinton got caught at something that most of the politicians do anyway.  Hell everyone talks about how great JFK was and it is common knowledge that he had an affair with Marilyn Monroe.  Or at least really good scandal.  It is ok if there is scandal about it as long as it is not discussed in the media.  People can gossip about it and that is fine.  

Bottom line Clinton is a politician.  His wife is a damn good lawyer.  Between the two of them, they where able to wiggle his way out of the charges.  So what?   His affairs did what to the economy?  Did him having affairs and lying about it, cause a recession?

And to be even more honest, if he can put the hell up with her, when I really dont give a crap.  She is a lawyer.  And she has done good things for the people that she represents.  I dont have to like her as  a person to think that she would do good things for the nation.

No I dont know who I will vote for.  Part of me thinks that we will end up with McCain as Pres, just because there are enough people who will NOT vote for a woman or a black man. (People like my parents) It does not matter about the issues at all.

If I remember correctly, Nixon stepped down and was not impeached.  Bill Clinton was impeached but the senate did not convict.

You are correct sir, the proceedure is called impeachment, meaning if they take a vote you are impeached, regardless of the outcome.  Just because you are impeached does not mean you are convicted.  Also Senator Russ Feingold voted against Clinton and he's a dem (the only one I have ever voted for).

How many people connected to you have died of gunshot wounds?  Those people should be in jail.

ok THomas, I will fully admit that I have 0 idea what you are trying to say.   I did not say that I was going to Vote for Hilary.  I'm just saying that I have voted for people in the past that I did not like. I do not have to like the person, to think that they will do more for the nation then what is being done now.  Considering that the US Dept of ED just lost 8 billion dollars in funding this year, so fund the War Effort, this effects not only my kids but my job directly.  I dont like where the nation is right now. I will attempt to vote for the persona that I think will do the best for my family and the nation as a whole.  I dont have to want to have that same person over to my house for dinner every Friday.

Looking it up, here is the definition of Impeachment: The constitutional process whereby the House of Representatives may "impeach" (accuse of misconduct) high officers of the federal government for trial in the Senate.  

So the house Impeached (called into question) Clinton conduct and the Senate acquitted him saying that he did not meet the criteria, under law, to be convicted of the items.  

How is this any different then a guy who gets put on trial for murder by the Grand Jury and during the trail the Jury acquits them?

The Grand jury reviews the evidence and determines whether there is evidence enough for a trial.  During the trial it is the responsibility of the lawyers on both sides of the issue to spin the evidence to benefit their argument in the eyes of the jury.  During an impeachment process, most members of congress vote along party lines no matter what the evidence, remember these people have little to no morals or principals.

He lied to the grand jury under oath. It was proven that he lied under oath. That's the difference.

Yea, the list is mind boggeling and even if 1/10 was true they would rank up there as some of the more henus people.

Almost none of them do Annette and those that do are boring and pretty useless. Bill got away with it because of the screechings of people like Tom Delay and Jerry Falwell. Thomas, I read thru the one you posted and the WACO stuff.  It is rather sickening, just how much can bo done and how ignorance the general population is to it.

I've hated watching the news/CNN/ hell any of them since the 90's and the first Gulf War.  All the news did was make it look like a video game and the American public as a whole took it as seriously as that as well.  (I'm not talking about everyone just the kids that I was in college with at the time, and talking to my folks)  

After marrying Shaun and hearing about the crap that he did over there, before we where officially over there and everything else. Well it just turns your blood cold.  

Your link just adds up a lot of things that when put together make up a great big whole that most people dont want to think about.

That's where the problem lies, we don't want to think about it, but in order to do something about it, we have to think about it.  They are doing whatever they want (washington in general) and are above the law.  I for one am getting pretty fed up with our "elected" officials pissing all over my Constitution.

Dave, I lived under the Communist government for several years while in Vietnam, I am not that naive.

However, these abhorant deeds are much harder to prove. No doubt they are happening but you will never be able to prove it publically to kick someone out of office.

The other "crimes" that they dont care about and therefore dont bother to cover up well, are easier to prove to the public. In all practicallity, we have a much better chance of getting someone in power into "trouble" and out of office with a infidelity charge than with murder.

It certianly is a blast.  I love how we've been duped by the media/government/entertainment/corporate conglomerate.  It's nice to know that I've paid through the nose (monetarily) to finance their powergrab.  It's a riot that I don't have a voice.  And it definately benifits society by controlling what "news" we are allowed to see.  Gotta have sensationalism and smoke and mirrors, keep 'em distracted boys while we filch whatever's left of thier nest-eggs and freedom.  It's really too far gone to save at this point.  It's been one hell of a party watching the internal rotting of what was once the greatest nation in the world.  Just waiting for the skin to fall off and then pop the cork on the champagne to celebrate the end of an empire.  Sure would be nice if integrity, candor, compassion and common sense were still valuable character traits...........  :-/

Please vote for me, kathy copelin.  I have chronic clusterheadaches which have been know to send me into rages, but I promise not to touch that button or phone or what ever the heck they use now, whilst having a CH.  Also, I have a 10 year old son who is rather active, a 17 year old daughter who is beautiful, a 16 year old son who is incredibly funny and a husband who loves NASCAR.  Also a dog who is not the brightest bulb  on the strand and a cat who is really in charge.

On second thought, do not vote for me...I don't like people that much and I believe in balancing my checkbook.  I'd be a total disaster.
