Title: Northeast Messy Weather Post by cynjeep89 on Feb 12th, 2008, 6:13pm For those of you who live in the N.E., please be careful!! We are getting nailed big time with ice and sleet. Parts of the Schuylkill Expressway are closed as are three bridges. There are tons of accidents on the roads around northern Delaware and into Philly and it looks like this mess is heading to the northeast. If this weather is making its way toward you, please be careful, k? Carrie, Randy, Jim Laff, James (cosmicfunkfather)...check in if you can. |

Title: Re: Northeast Messy Weather Post by barry_sword on Feb 12th, 2008, 6:48pm We got labeled here on Sunday, it was the 2nd annual Sno-Cross Race and the racers and fans got snowed in until Monday. Sorry if this is the same storm system, I did not have anything to do with it, [smiley=crackup.gif] We also dropped to -23 F, or ours -31 C last night. Brrrrrrrr! Be careful out there!! :) |

Title: Re: Northeast Messy Weather Post by Mr. Happy on Feb 12th, 2008, 8:41pm 1/4" ice glaze covering everything, and it's still coming down. Even if the main roads are passable, every secondary/side road is a death trap.................zero control. Still got power! :) RJ |

Title: Re: Northeast Messy Weather Post by zwibbs/Scott on Feb 12th, 2008, 8:43pm 1.5 hours to get home--I might have to move to a warmer climate--I can't stand people who drive at 10MPH--STAY OFF THE ROADS IF IT IS GOING TO SNOW !!! |

Title: Re: Northeast Messy Weather Post by Lizzie2 on Feb 12th, 2008, 10:05pm Worked 7-3 today at the hospital, and then was supposed to go to a doc appt in Jersey, but I cancelled that one as I was driving in this morning at 6:40am. Came home and it was already sleeting.....changed into the jammies and watched it from the indoors! Tomorrow morning, I may take the train in - not sure what kind of hell it will be to clean my car off from under the ice, nor if the roads will be good for driving at 6am! Stay safe and warm everybody!! I can't even sit in my living room because it's so freaking cold out there, and I don't have control over my own heat here! Used to be this apartment was always hot, but I swear this year they are skimping on the heat here! Take care, Carrie :) |

Title: Re: Northeast Messy Weather Post by Lizzie2 on Feb 12th, 2008, 10:13pm Guiseppi, That's what I'm afraid of. I can shovel snow - no problem with that. It's the damn ice. I don't know how I'll get it off if it's an inch or two thick in the morning. I don't get up early enough for this crap! haha That train is looking better every minute! |

Title: Re: Northeast Messy Weather Post by cynjeep89 on Feb 13th, 2008, 4:22am Well, looks like it's a good day to work from home. Front and back steps at my house are enclosed in about 1/2 an inch of ice and the streets in the neighborhood don't look much better. Poor dogs don't like the ice at all. They looked like spiders trying to crawl up the back steps this morning after I let them outside. ;;D The main roads are supposed to be okay but each traffic report I listen to gets longer with more and more accidents. "All skate. All skate." ;) Y'all be careful out there. |

Title: Re: Northeast Messy Weather Post by DennisM1045 on Feb 13th, 2008, 6:32am I'm working from home today. No sense wasting two hours in traffic. So long as the Internet holds I'm good to go - nowhere! I love having a lab that is wired :D -Dennis- |

Title: Re: Northeast Messy Weather Post by Lizzie2 on Feb 13th, 2008, 8:28pm Had to go to work - in nursing, we have no choice! Would be nice to work from home, though! hehe My boyfriend and mom think that would be a bad idea for me because I'd never get anything done! Took the train in this morning and almost fell a few times on the walk to the train station, but at least I got to and from work in one piece! Looked like a drowned rat, though, even WITH an umbrella! Also got the migraine from hell all day today. But at least I'm home now and the weather is calming down a bit here! Hope everybody was safe today! Hugz, Carrie :) |
