Title: ONSI Update - The Latest Post by Lizzie2 on Feb 11th, 2008, 5:16pm Hi everyone, I heard back from the ANS company rep that I've been working with last night. He just went to a national sales meeting, and it was announced that the new battery they have created will be coming onto the market in mid-April. The rep said that with seeing and understanding the features of the new battery, he thinks I made the right decision in waiting for the new one to come out. I just emailed him back saying that I'm glad I am waiting for the new one, too, but waiting is very difficult! Mid-April can't come soon enough now! It's tough knowing that there is something out there that can help me, but I can't get it yet. I know the time will pass quickly, as it always seems to, but still I wish it were sooner! I can't wait to see the size of the new battery, as I've heard it is significantly smaller and sounds like it's definitely a step up. I finally spoke with my neurosurgeon's office today and schedule a follow-up consultation with him for early March. This way, I can ask any remaining questions and possibly schedule a tentative surgery date for when we expect the battery will be available. (Maybe if I schedule for late-April or early May, I'll be sure the battery will be out?) That's the latest on that topic! Fingers crossed for me! Hugz, Carrie :) |

Title: Re: ONSI Update - The Latest Post by brewcrew on Feb 11th, 2008, 5:21pm As with any new product, prepare yourself for delays. Sales people say lots of things, and sometimes they come true. But sometimes they don't. So just be prepared. |

I see what you're saying, but I know the rep has been straight up with me. All they are waiting for is approval of the FDA, so they'd have the product on the market today if they could! I was concerned about waiting for FDA approval of it, as I waited for a year and a half for Lyrica to come out, as my neuro kept telling me there was this new med on the European market that was due out any day now - and it took a year and a half before it finally came out on the US market. (Only to do nothing for me!) However, they've been saying that the new battery will be out late March, April, but no later than May for awhile now - and now the date they expect it is mid-April. The difference between this and the usual new product is that this isn't entirely new: just improvements on a product already on the market. So hopefully it will not be much later than what he is saying. I appreciate him telling me to wait for the new battery, and he understands my urgency. It makes out better for him if I buy the battery out right now and he gets commission off it, but instead he advised me to wait for the new one, as it would be a better fit for me. He knows that if I would have to wait any later than May, then I will go with whatever is on the market now and say screw it because I don't want to wait that long. We'll see what happens! |

Title: Re: ONSI Update - The Latest Post by Lizzie2 on Feb 13th, 2008, 10:31pm Thanks everyone! I really appreciate the good thoughts. I really wish it was already mid-April and I could get the surgery already. Migraine and clusters have both been really bad the last couple days. :-/ On the plus side, my hair is really starting to grow back on the back of my head! ha... Hugz, Carrie |
