Title: Signs
Post by George_J on Feb 9th, 2008, 11:17am
Partly sunny today, and much warmer.  The twigs of the willows along the streams and rivers are turning red and yellow, and the Redwing Blackbirds are tuning up.  First actual spring-like morning.

Only a promise, but it looks like this winter may actually end one day.

Best,

George

George J,  from a lazy species of Idaho groundhog that wakes a week later than all others indigenous of North America has just emerged this morning to give a more detailed report than the shadow-reading forecasters of legend.
A certain Pennsylvania groundhog who wished to remain anonymous commented, "Give him a few time zones and he takes a week!".   Another from Canada jibed, "Ah, he's still learning about birds and the bees, eh.  Bet he's puttin' away his hockey stick already."

I do not think there are any signs of spring here yet, but maybe under all that fresh snow a tree bud is trying to sprout.

I remember what our phony "Wiarton Willie" the serial killing Groundhog predicted a week ago so I have all the faith in the world spring will be here "sometime soon" ;;D

Thanks George for the good thoughts, but rather than chance another load up into the frozen tundra like the last few I wrangled one going to NC this weekend, with a boat going from NC to North Miami on Monday.  I may just have to develop some truck trouble while in south FL. ;;D

Potter, you have my sympathies.  Montana is a gorgeous state in the summer, BOTH weeks, but I've been stuck out there in the winter to many times.

Shaddup Dave.... ;)

Gonna be awful damn cold to go out to eat tonight, but at least I can hope that the place isn't gonna be as packed as if the weather was better.

Wont be long Pegg.

Wisconsin summers are beautiful. Mostly not too hot, not too much rain and a ton of kool places to visit...like all the lakes, parks etc.

OK, well it reminds me of that time. I do like Tesla tho. The classical guitar in the beginning of  "Love Song" is really great.
