We got a taste of a bit of yuck yesterday. 4 inches in 2 hours, then sleet the rest of the night. I'm done with winter. One of my customers said this is the most snow (over all) he's seen round here in a long time. I have to agree. I think it was like 11 years ago when we got so much snow over a 2 day period, (I was snowed in out of town) that when I got back home, the snow was up to the knob on my front door. I had to dig my way IN rather than dig myself OUT. :o |

Still steel-gray outside and coldish, but it hasn't been precipitatin' like it was. We've had a ton of snow this year--not so much down here in the valley, but plenty up in the toolies. Something like 125 percent of normal. The runoff's going to be huge this spring. If any of you are kayakers, there will be some spectacular opportunities to splatter yourselves against the canyon walls on the Payette, the Salmon, and the Selway rivers in a couple of months. I'll try to get some photos of the South Fork Payette in April or May to show you--in big runoff years, it roars down the canyon like a big, muddy freight train. It's a hell of a thing to see, especially with the fanatics riding on the back of that monster in their little plastic boats. Hunker down--hope this is winter's last gasp for you all. Best, George |

Monday, it warmed up, and the fog was thick enough to cut it with a knife. I couldn't see 50 feet. It rained and brought up more fog. Last night it thunderstormed, melted off most of the snow. Ground is frozen, so no where for the water to go. Still raining today, pouring, and supposed to change to snow tonight. High is 34, Low is 35. Supposed to have snow showers until Fri, when the sun comes out. No big accumulations, just a PITA. It's Feb. All I can say, is the weather will start to warm up by the end of the month. At least around these parts. Thank goodness. Hope it goes by quick. Getting tired of it too. |

We ventured out this morning to Webb's, about 6 blocks away. He drove home two waitresses. Hot damn, this one's a keeper!! LOADS of snow here. As long as I don't have to shovel it... well, it's good snowball and snowman snow, too. |

Post by ski2k on Feb 6th, 2008, 10:03pm My roomate was kind enough to "plow" our road with his Buick Park Ave. Pushed up a HUGE pile of snow with his bumper, then wondered why he got stuck at the end of the driveway!!! Between the fact the driveway is a hill, the road plows have piled some up right there from before, and what he added to it..... gee... I wonder how that happened! Good thing he's got a roomie like me with a 4X4 truck to haul his a$$ out!! Damn that snow is getting deep! Now they're saying between 12-15 inches by the time it's over. I think we're close to 12 now, and it's supposed to keep going tomorrow, too. Adam, who's sick of winter!!!!!!! |

Ted took the day off of work to help me finish packing for our move on Friday. So we spent the day packing and ended it shoveling and snowblowing. I think we have 7 ft piles of snow out front. |
