Title: Re: hell froze over Post by thomas on Feb 5th, 2008, 3:47pm I am comtemplating voting for her myself, until there is a true conservative on the ballot, I think I'll just vote for the most communist person available. Maybe some one will get the message. Time to do something, otherwise nothing's gonna change. Tired of having to take a shower after voting. |

The thing is what I can find on this is Coulter, a firebrand commentator prone to tirades against liberals, railed against McCain this week and went so far as to say that if he wins the Republican nomination she would prefer Democrat Hillary Clinton as president. So I cant really say that she is stumping Hillary |

Title: Re: hell froze over Post by BMoneeTheMoneeMan on Feb 5th, 2008, 9:57pm I honestly think the republicans are throwing the election. They realize that if they throw this one and regroup for the next few years, they can probably take the next decade in the Congress and Executive. They have some very smart strategists, I think they could have easily gotten the drum beating for one or 2 of the GOP candidates. But as of yesterday, the republican nominee was wide open. I think it's being thrown so as to take one step back and 3 steps forward. |

Title: Re: hell froze over Post by Gator on Feb 5th, 2008, 10:22pm That's not the first time I've heard that, Brian. People have short memories and a habit of crediting/blaming whoever is currently in office for the state of their lives at any given moment. The republicans know that the course we are on now will not be solved in four years. They figure the democrats will flounder around for four years and people will become disenchanted with them and be ready to go back the other way. If the dems do manage to set a course for growth and stability, it will take more than four years to see any benefit at which time the republicans will be back in office and get credit for it. |

Title: Re: hell froze over Post by George_J on Feb 6th, 2008, 10:28am Just a note from the reddest-of-red-states. The Ada County Democratic caucus took place here last night. They had 8500 people show up, and only had room for 6500. Paper ballots were handed out to the 2000 people waiting outside. The statewide caucus went 80 percent for Obama, 15 percent for Hillary, and 5 percent undecided. Hell frozen over indeed--the turnout shocked the heck out of a lot of people. Not that I expect the state to go Democrat in the general election. That would be hell and Miami frozen over. Best, George |

Title: Re: hell froze over Post by Callico on Feb 6th, 2008, 2:07pm At this point I don't see anyone I am excited about voting for. I cannot vote for Hillary, Obama has NO experience or background to recommend him, other than one term as a state senator, and two years as a US Senator. (Not that Hillary has any experience to recommend her either other than two terms as first lady) I WILL NOT vote for John McCain. If it comes down to one of the three I will sit this one out for the first time since 1972. :( >:( :'( Jerry |

Title: Re: hell froze over Post by midwestbeth on Feb 6th, 2008, 2:36pm Bob P................Funny Stuff ;;D Gator, I have always said the exaxt same thing. Ripple effect. Elect a politician one day and have him take credit/blame for whatever happens the next. Callico, I hear you. Obama was elected to the Illinois Senate then "poof" Illinois became a fly over state for him on his campaign trail. What has he done? Yesterday was the primary and the first time I did not vote since turning 18. I am uninspired. If it comes down to Obama and McCain I'll be sitting there with you. Beth |

Title: Re: hell froze over Post by Charlie on Feb 6th, 2008, 5:41pm Obama would be fun though. Hillary is competent but boring and at the moment, I have Clinton fatigue....not that I'm entertaining keeping the White House home of GOP vetoers. Come to think of it, no matter who wins, it will be refreshing to have competence back at 1600. Charlie |
