Today, Dave's friend Mark said to him " Hey Dave, are you having one of those headaches?" and Dave said
"No I haven't had one in a few weeks why?" and Mark said "Because I thought your eye was doing "the Pirate"!"

you know how your eye tears and closes (Horners Syndrome) when you have a CH attack

Well I almost peed my pants... I thought that was the funniest thing I ever heard.
and just like people say "I was doing the dance" for the way you act during an attack. They can just say "my eye is doing the Pirate" or call it "Pirate eye", when their eye tears up.

Dave hasn't had an attack since Christmas it was his present I guess. I haven't mentioned it for fear that the sneaky beast would wreck his break from pain... Even though he hasn't had an attack for a while you can still tell which eye is concerned during his attacks for several months after. I'm sure alot of you can see that your eye on that side is different than the other side.

I was also tickled that his friend Mark even noticed his eye was different when he had an attack, and knew it was different than a normal headache or condition. The word is out.

Just wanted to share this funny story!

That is funny...nice that his friend was observant.

Well Chuck has a parrot, Bob P has the OUCH sloop and Jonny has the Jolly Roger - looks like we're all set!

I'm glad Dave has such good friends too Ree :)

Thanks Ree! It is very refreshing to hear of non-CHers who are aware enough of their friends/partners condition that they not only recognize symptoms, but have their unique way of describing them...
that's a friend!
