Title: Attention, NYC Clusterheads! Post by sandie99 on Feb 1st, 2008, 11:16am My best supporter/boyfriend Timo is coming to NYC for a 5-day trip this spring (March 28 - April 1). He'll be staying at Wolcott hotel and he and his former colleagues will go to 2 hockey games, one NY Rangers game and one NY Islanders game. Now, Timo has few questions... 1. What are the best places to buy (general) music and movies? 2. Where he can find the best selection of indie movies? 3. Where is the best selection of metal music? 4. Are there some special events and happenings going on during the visit he should check out? 5. Other tips/ideas/suggestions... Sanna who would like to come with |

Title: Re: Attention, NYC Clusterheads! Post by imfareware on Feb 1st, 2008, 2:54pm The best place to buy vido's and music is in Chinatown, its all boot leg though. I live in Buffalo NY and my family and I went to NYC twice last year as tourist, first time in 30 years. I used this web site: http://www.sidestep.com/travel-info-g2849242-t19442-introduction_new_york_ny When you get in the subway, ask one of the info booths people for a map, they might look mean, but they are very friendly and helpful! Everybody in NYC was polite, I was surprised. Enjoy yourself and take lots of pictures. |

Title: Re: Attention, NYC Clusterheads! Post by Charlie on Feb 2nd, 2008, 9:41pm Good luck. I can't offer much as the last time I was there was 1973. He'll have a good time if he enjoys being around tourists. They probably outnumber the populace by now. 8) Charlie |

Title: Re: Attention, NYC Clusterheads! Post by sandie99 on Feb 3rd, 2008, 2:12pm We just watched the film "Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle" and now Timo wants to visit White Castle once he gets to NYC. ;;D What are your experiences about White Castle, is it worth a visit? Are their burgers yummy & tasty? Can you recommend other restaurants Timo should visit? Sanna |
